Can't drop Character Avatars onto Map

I am pretty sure I used to be able to drag-and-drop character avatars onto the map before. Now I do not seem to be able to. Either the icon on the avatar that allowed it to be dragged disappears once I mouse over it, the icon doesn't appear at all, or I do get to click on it and drag it onto the map, but it doesn't appear as a token. Why is this happening? EDIT: Let me illustrate the "the icon pops up but dropping doesn't work" problem in a GIF

Hi Dimensional13,  Please widen the screenshot. I suspect you have text next to the avatar.  Edit the character, cut the text (you can repaste it later), save, then hover over the avatar, see if the 4way arrows appear in the top left corner. If they do you can drag that to the table. It has been a long standing issue that text prevents the avatar from being grabbed.  If this is the case then my suggestion is to cut the text, drag the avatar, turn it into the token, then repaste the text and use the token.

Hi, I'm afraid it also doesn't work even when there's no text. Removing text makes the avatar grabbable, but when I let go, it doesn't drop onto the map for some reason.

Are you grabbing the 4way arrows in the top left corner of the avatar? Also, is the image one of your own (ie: is it in your Art Library)? Or is it from a module etc.? If it is one of your own, please verify that it has not been deleted from your Art Library. You might try clearing cookies/cache to make sure.
OK, so this is embarrassing; I solved my problem myself. Turns out, grabbing an avatar and putting it onto a map doesn't work if the map doesn't have a grid. For whatever reason. So my problem is solved, I just had to re-enable my grid.

Ahhh yes, for some reason the grid is required for a number of things. That is a weird element to Roll20.
