D20-Based Mass Combat Rules For Roll20 - Any Interest?

Hi All, In my last campaign there was a key moment when enemy forces were going to storm a city. I was very keen to actually play out the battle in some form, rather than just do a few sterile dice rolls, to try and make it a bit more epic and interesting. The general advice was to ‘theatre of the mind it’, just dropping the characters into some key encounters while battle raged around them, or use a fairly simple dice-rolling set of rules to resolve it. In my case it was important for the battle to go either way to affect the campaign in a realistic way. Two of my three players were keen on actually playing it out as a wargame so I went to the Internet to find some rules and came up short, plus with Roll20 (API) it seemed there were opportunities to streamline the battle and keep things nimble. So I decided to make up my own rules for a war game run on Roll20, interspersed with actual ‘hero encounters’ to heroically help sway the course of battle. I am now in the middle of my third mass combat (see image below) and my Mass Combat Rule script is pretty much fully functional... It's system-agnostic but uses D20 for 'to-hit' and morale rolls etc. Basically a framework you can expand your own custom rules on... It does require a certain amount of setup defining the units but my script in conjunction with TokenMod, TokenNameNumber & Ping Buddy streamlines the process considerably... Anyone interested? Definitely interested in learning some more. I've done a couple of things, a napoleonic man to man skirmish and am slowly evolving a set of dark ages rules using figure bases, here's a screenshot. token actions for Melee, Missile and Morale which vary depending on casualty levels. Underlying rules are dead simple, partly cribbed from the Paper General site.

Loosely interested to see what your Mod (script) does, on top of what's already present from Roll20 itself, and the mods you mentioned like TokenMod.  I have both played-and-run some Mass Combats in Roll20 using similar systems as you mentioned, basically d20 with hit rolls, damage rolls, morale checks, and the map with Units of troops combined with individual PC ("heroes") in the action. We've done it a variety of ways / game systems, basically from D&D-related supplements over the years going back to one called BattleSystem (AD&D era). We never used Mod scripts heavily though. Just built-in Roll20 features such as the Bubbles to track the number of surviving troops per Unit, and the default Roll20 dice roller to roll whatever the system called-for. It wasn't really automated. Using the Ruler heavily to measure distances/range. Moving tokens that represent a whole Unit each, mixed with individual PC tokens. It was just using Roll20 to do what a tabletop mass-combat game system called for.  So I'm curious to see how your Script (combined with those other Mods), might help to streamline or automate
