Cannot Edit character sheet owner

I was setting up the token and sheet for a player's new character, and when I went to set the "In Player's Journals" to simply be "All Players" and not just the player whose sheet it was, all of a sudden I am getting this: What's up with that? None of my other past sheets ever had that problem before. I'm the friggin GM, it's my game, I should be able to put whoever I want in there. I suspect it has something to do with the fact they imported the sheet from their Vault.

Hi Shard,  Did the player import the character from Roll20 Characters?  Did the player create the character by hitting the "+ Characters" button in the Journal?  If either of those things happened that is why you cannot remove that user from their character sheet.  Edit: to elaborate on the problem.  When the Devs created Roll20 Characters they decided that a player owns a character if it is in Roll20 Characters. So if that character is created by the player in the game or in Roll20 Characters and is then imported into the game, then the GM cannot remove control from that player.  This has a number of potential consequences. Such as if a player leaves the game the character goes with them. Potentially removing valuable information from the game.  If you wish to retain control over all characters you have to turn off the ability to import characters and turn off the ability for players to hit the +Characters button. They can still make their own characters but you have to start it and assign it to them. You can disable both by going to Roll20.net then go to Settings followed by Game Settings. Next, you disable "Allow players to create their own characters" and "Allow players to transfer Characters".

Well, I want players to be able to create their own character sheet, it's convenient. It's also convenient for them to be able to import one if need be. I just think this is a silly rule, considering the GM has total control over everything else in their game, this should be no exception.

Your best bet is to send the Devs feedback via the feedback option in your game, or by going to the Help Center and giving them feedback that way.

There are at least 2 scripts that allow your players to create their own characters, while preserving ownership as something you can change or remove.
Yes, and...? Was there some substantial point you were making here, or...? GiGs said: Shard said: Well, I want players to be able to create their own character sheet, it's convenient. Gigs was pointing out some alternative ways to achieve what you want. Do you need the script names?
