Looking for a Little Help

Hey so not really sure if this is even the right spot to post this but here goes. I’m a returning player after not playing for a few years and me and my group are looking to start another Campaign/One-Shot to test the waters and see if our schedules align. I’m mainly looking for someone who has experience DMing that can give me some pointers for my potentially first time running something or on the contrary who would be willing to run a one-shot for us. Any help is super appreciated and if I could get into contact with someone who’d be willing to coach me if even just a little to help me get into the role of a future DM I would be astronomically thankful.  Much love and best of luck to everyone and their rolls!

Hey I wouldn’t mind giving you a few pointers. You can message me here if you’re more curious, but just set party expectations “hey I’m learning” but also know what type of games your party wants. They may want a few npcs to blab with in a dumb way or an emotional story to get them into it. If they’re your friends already I’m guessing you have similar tastes. But most importantly just ask them what they want in the game. I just started a game with long time friends where I said I don’t need your full back story, only things you want me to know about. (Ie how the monks sensei acted) . Set proper expectations But this is something idk that most dms do but I’m fine with saying “okay that rules, give me a minute” so I can consider whatever nuts stuff they asked for and take however long I want to consider lol
