LOL, not being Zack. So, can we convert xps into non-xp? I assume there'd be a boat-load of 'FING IDIOT' non-xp points for doing such. Best cosplay? I can roll with that. Wait until you see my more 'serious' costume.

speak for yourself, we killed a squid... and i got killing blow so my kill count of note is Owlbear GIant Squid
So your kill count is natural creatures just being themselves ;) oh. You continued the session? Anything happened?
hey they attacked us... with your attitude we would all be weaklings for the rest of the campaign ;) we just checked out the lighthouse and found some stuff...
Killing dangers and being proud of it are two different things. Leave it to humans to be proud of killing nature. (all in character of course) what did you guys find?

That will put the party at the high end of Tier 1.... Knocking on the door of Tier 2. Why do that matter? At Tier 2 (5th-10th level) the party will be quite powerful compared to the general population. Less than 1% of any normal person in community will be as powerful or more powerful than you. And the party will face dangers that threaten cities and kingdoms. I know this has been a lot of traveling, and more traveling to go; however the party has stayed together, advanced in level and gained a multi-kingdom sense of the world. The party is starting to come into their own... which is a good thing. Because the other side of the world is truly dangerous. Evil kingdoms go unchecked, the forests are not made safe by elves and there are no warm Inns to offer rest.
We got more magic items that I missed? I

Sacred Oath time for the Paladin.... "When you reach 3rd level, you swear the oath that binds you as a paladin forever. Up to this time you have been in a preparatory stage, committed to the path but not yet sworn to it. Now you choose the Oath of Devotion, the Oath of the Ancients, or the Oath of Vengeance, all detailed at the end of the class description. Your choice grants you features at 3rd level and again at 7th, 15th, and 20th level."

This party is out of control... I have been struggling with scaling the bad guys... Partly because the number of monsters to choose from in thin and second, there are just too many PCs. I think its dungeon crawl time... taps and posion.

I say go hand to hand tradition, seems very powerful. Quivering palm=pwnage. Ninja path seems kind of weaksauce, like spellcaster who can only cast invisibility (maybe not quite that bad). The Avatar path sounds interesting, but again, seems like weak-sauce spell caster to me. I don't understand the rules real well yet, so I could be full of shit (literally and figuratively). No Inn's you say? I think I've got my first goal: I want to found an Inn. Maybe one in a large cave, possible underground, or in a bunch of large trees. Could possibly set it up near shore instead, with the thought of making a port that could grow into something more. Make up crap about having land grants to give out. "Land is for the taking, but only the BOLD need apply" It's not a lie, it's just not telling the whole truth. Could 'sell' land grants on the cheap, LOL. What do I care how much I make. I don't own anything, so I'd be, literally, printing the equivalent of money.

'Taps', you say? Wouldn't that naturally follow poisons? You know, deaths and funeral and all. I could see the Paladin having Taps played at his funeral, but the rest of us? Oh, I'm almost certain I'm going college of lore. Three free fing SKILLZ at 3rd, couple of spells at 6th, I can inspire myself (uh, yeah, that's kind of creepy). Just all around feels more 'bardish'. The Warrior path is ok, with an extra attack at 6th, and an attack after you cast a spell as a bonus action.
Seeing as I'm not 17th level, I won't be considering quivering palm so early :P, the coolest thing I get in 3rd level is that if people shoot me I can catch one shot (only one reaction between turns) and if I catch it hard enough, I can throw it back with the cost of 1 ki! So with 3rd level I get this things from each tradition: Open Hand: I can prone (dexsave 11), push (strsave 11) or not allow them reactions until my next turn. The saves suck because of my low wisdom, so it is rather weak... Shadows: I get to do some shadowy and stealthy magic... Avatar: I get to be a bender!... Air bender seems strongest (3d10 AND push AND prone an enemy...) but there are also some other cute things, nothing out of the ordinary and not that many choices really. Shadows fit Rinn's personality the most and Open Hand would fit her monk training the most... Avatar one fits her Elven origin the most. So it is REALLY hard to choose! I'm considering Open Hand since it is the most basic one, but I am stealthy and all so Shadows would probably work the best.
well im obviusly going for the totem warrior path: wolf.... which is pretty fucking good if you ask me :)
I have no idea what I'm doing.

You are doing well.... its just nuances that come with time.
Maya, you are saying that as if we do :D Also if you want help with third level choices feel free to chat up
Maya, you have two basic choices at 3rd level: Thief path or Assassin path (assuming you continue with rogue). Thief makes you better at utility, can pick locks as bonus actions, for example. Assassin will let you, much of the time, get off a sneak attack once per round. And it gets even better as it levels up.
There is also the trickster... But I dunno if spells is your thing...
Oh, right. Forgot. I don't like it, but she might
I chose the Shadow art!
Anyway, looking forward to some ship travel.

Party is now at the high end of First Tier: In the first tier (levels 1-4), characters are effectively apprentice adventurers. They are learning the features that define them as mem bers of particular classes, including the major choices that flavor their class features as they advance (such as a wizard’s Arcane Tradition or a fighter’s Martial Archetype). The threats they face are relatively minor, usually posing a danger to local farmsteads or villages. And moving into Second Tier: In the second tier (levels 5-10), characters come into their own. Many spellcasters gain access to 3rd-level spells at the start of this tier, crossing a new threshold of magical power with spells such as fireball and lightning bolt. At this tier, many weapon-using classes gain the ability to make multiple attacks in one round. These characters have becom e important, facing dangers that threaten cities and kingdoms.
