Two players LFG

Two players available on Wednesdays after 6:30 PM CDT, we have experience with a variety of TTRPG systems and are willing to learn new ones if need be. We aren't willing to pay for a game, and we only do text games.
Update: We've picked up a third person whose willing to join a game with us in case a gm is looking for a larger number of players.
Hey! If you are playing DnD I would like to join! I would rather be a player for once, but I can dm as well haha

I'm curious how text based works. Is it pretty much like voice, using maps and images in Roll20, just texting with no voice?

It can, the alternative would be a PBP (Play by post) which I find takes years longer to complete anything.  Text based on roll20 you should be able to get by like normal, if not faster, as no awkward interruptions, multiple people can type at the same time, etc.  As long as you have people paying attention (since you can't yell at them if they aren't).  I also find people that text tend to emote more, as they have to type what they are feeling or doing rather then just rely on their voice.

I also like that you can play different races and personalities even if you don't maybe have the confidence or the vocal skill to pull off a character but are confident you could convey them in writing well enough. What's more with friends this makes talking aloud out of character way less awkward (when I play with friends we usually hang out in a discord or roll20 chat together) the gm never has to ask if someone is saying something aloud or actually doing something if you make a joke because if you were you'd have written it down, you also have notes on everything that has ever happened ever in the game.
