Will we be able to make characters with the 2024 PHB on the D&D 2014 character sheet?

I've seen that the 2014 stuff will be able to be used in the new character sheet, but I haven't seen mention of it being true the other way around. And while the new sheet looks pretty, it feels so clunky when it comes to making homebrew NPCs. Anyone know something about this?

Hi Felix V.,  I've been using the 2014 sheet for the 2024 Playtest for some time now.  My takeaways:  1) Exhaustion: This will require a little bit of setting up but is not a problem.  To do that first create a resource (I suggest the "other_resource" box for stability). Put "0" in the box and label it.  Next, click the settings cog (next to spells) and in the third column find "Core Die Roll". Change that to @{other_resource} +d20 (note: if you want to use a positive value for exhaustion level add a - sign before @{other_resource}.  2) The Short rest button will not restore single use of a resource on a short rest, so a Mod (API Script) is needed to automate that.  Example: current 2014 rules restore all uses of a resource on a short rest (assuming it is a short rest resource and not a long rest resource).  The Playtest, and I expect the 2024 rules, have some short rest resources regaining only 1 use rather than all uses.  The script ChatSetAttr can handle that but I am hoping that someday a script writer will create a script to handle that, or Roll20 will update the resource/short rest system to handle it. 3) The Charactermancer: Due to the differences in structure between 2014 and 2024 (such as where ability scores are gained being moved from race/species to backgrounds) the 2014 Charactermancer may not work correctly, or at all. So manual creation of characters via the Compendium may need to happen. Or things may need to be tweaked after Charactermancer creation to fix issues. This one is a wait and see. 4) Compendium: I expect the Compendium will be compatible, but only time will tell.  Otherwise I don't expect any issues.
