Is there a Way to use Charactermancer (D&D 5.5 old sheet) to build a D&D 2024 Character

So I was excited to get the new D&D 2024 content but find the new D&D sheet completely buggy and unusable at this time.  Is there a way to use the 2024 content with charactermancer in the old sheet?
Not possible, it even forbids you dragging in new 2024 content into the old sheet from the compendium, so not even a way to manually create a 2024 character using the old, working sheets.

That's disappointing... Had I known, I would have waited on buying the books as they are pretty much useless to me (other than to have some of the information).  Did they mention somewhere that this new book content would require the new sheet to function?  I'm kinda disappointed that roll20 chose to do it this way because, again, this book is functionally useless to me right now.  Any idea when they might have that new character sheet up and functional?  I was finally able to create a character using the new sheet, (after much hardship) and half of the macros didn't work correctly and it didn't seem like any of my API scripts worked with the new sheet.  Have they said anything about making the content backwards-compatible with the old charactermancer later?

Hi DM Raven and Hannes, What I am doing is manually building all the Classes as 2014 character sheets, complete will full features and spell lists.  Then when I have a player wanting to play "X" class I will spin off a copy.  It won't have species, background, or subclass information on it, but those will be a lot easier to add on later.  I am using the Free Rules to build this so I can share the Characters with anyone. You can follow this progress in the Roll20 Discord server (pinned thread in Tips and Tricks).  I currently have Barbarian done, working on Bard right now.

My guess is that they are looking at a lot of solutions right now, and cannot comment because they don't yet know which solutions will work best, time and manpower to implement them, and don't want to publicly commit to something until they have something solid to comment on. — My guess . I know this is frustrating (I want to use all the cool new stuff too!), but I'm not surprised at the silence, rather than a knee jerk promise/plan that could easily blow up into more user frustration. The only way I can see to possibly use the new material right now is to manually copy and paste into the 2014 sheet and adjudicate its lack of features like 2024 exhaustion on the fly. For the time being, my group (four of whom are GMs) will be sticking with 2014 sheets and rules.

Just a note: Exhaustion doesn't need to be adjudicated on the fly, I have it built into the sheet pretty easily.  Create a Resource (I am using other_resource), name it Exhaustion.  Alternately, enable exhaustion on the sheet, but ignore the text. You can then use the attribute @{exhaustion_level}  Next, go to the settings tab (cog next to spells). Go to the 3rd column, near the top is the Core Die Roll.  Change it from 1d20 to -@{other_resource}*2 +1d20 If not using other_resource put the attribute that is being used instead.

Even though I also published that solution and a script back when the rule was first introduced in playtest, I consider it a hack. My script that looks for the number on an exhaustion token marker and changes the roll similarly: -1[Exhaustion]+1d20 This puts the tag into the roll so the player can see where the modifier is coming from. Or it could easily be modified to work off the existing exhaustion attribute, or co-opt a resource as in your solution. These are all hacks or bandaids. They cannot be easily modified to work on an npc statblock, for instance. Yes, you can put in code or formulas or abilities, etc. to account for their absence on the 2024 sheet. My point was that if you just want to start playing, it's sometimes easier to just do something in your head than try to account for it with what is ultimately a hack.

I think my biggest frustration is them selling me the book without having the new character builder ready or having it be compatible with the old one.  I usually have a pretty good experience with roll20 products (having most of the book content usable with the character sheet and in-game resources like monster stats, macros, and tokens).  Coming from a software background, I know how hard it can be to launch something that works well and is relatively bug-free, but this launch feels like they pushed out something that wasn't finished so people would buy the books on launch day.
Had I known I wouldn't be able to update my games properly for my players I never would have bought the 2024 PHB on Roll20. Lesson learned I guess.

I think I have seen other preorder refunds being honored so you might try if you want a refund. I expect it is 15days from delivery date.
