Add Comment field in Roll submission box

Hello Forum My suggestion is an optional text field that can be appended to the chat log for a die roll (skill, weapon attack, stat rolls) (MOCKUP) My party adds modifiers to almost every attack roll for situational bonuses and penalties (size/range, penalties to hit weapon points). Thanks!

I don't know what sheet you're using, but you can do this in a couple ways already - such as [[modifier[?{comment}]]] - in which case the comment is visible on hovering over the number - or you can play with template properties, if your template allows custom fields (like the default template does), by placing this field: {{=?{comment}}} into the template.
Hello Tuo I'm sorry but I'm not a sheet developer; I'm not sure where that code would go. : (  I use a stock sheet, but thought this sort of optional functionality would be useful for all players where modifiers to die rolls are possible (to pass a reason for the modifiers automatically into the chat log with the roll). If I manually added something to my current sheets wouldn't it be overwritten the next update?
Ah, I meant as making a custom ability with that template, with the field added. I still don't know what sheet you're using, so I don't know what template you're using and how it works, so I have a hard time giving more specific advice. Depending on the sheet, it may already be very easy with some know-how. But, if you post the template into chat, try clicking the chat input field and pressing up arrow - this will either give you the full template the sheet uses, or a call for the template (unless it's a beacon sheet that hates templates and macros). In the former case, you can copy the template, find the field for the modifier, edit it, and save it as a character ability. Ultimately, what you're asking is not a roll20 wide feature, but something for individual sheets, and depending the allowances of a given sheet, it may already be doable.
