LF1P for SciFi Apocalypse World Campaign (Monday&Friday evenings GTM+2)

Recruitment is closed, thank you for your interest. :) Good to see you :) For the quick ones: Time: Monday as well as sometimes Friday evenings around 7pm GMT+2, playing for around 5 hours. Players: 1 more - 4 players is my limit so everyone can have their time to shine and I have 3 from earlier games. Newcomers are welcome as long as they take the group, me as the GM & roleplaying seriously. Technical Stuff: Need a working microphone with acceptable quality, don't need a camera as no one so far uses one. Communication will be via Teamspeak (its free and better quality than Skype). Campaign status: We are literally one session in but are currently discussing maybe rebooting for the new player What we are looking for: An active, reliable adult player who enjoys character interaction (discussions, small talk etc.) between PCs as well as NPCs, immersing themselves in a different universe and finding their own adventures as well as pursuing their own goals. There will be no questmarkers. Characterwise, they should be the responsible type one way or another. Someone who keeps the gun-toting people from shooting everything on sight :) Taken classes are the Gunlugger, Savvyhead and Angel. Not allowed because of the scenario are the Hocus and the Hardholder (the Hardholder might be allowed later depending on how the campaign evolves, i.e. if the PCs get an actual place). Anything else is up for grabs. We play Monday evenings for ~5 hours each session with some chatting at the end of session (end of session move, what we liked, what we didn't, does the tone work for everyone, what should be changed etc.). We also always try to play on Fridays for about the same amount of time. Send in applications via pm with a rough character concept and ideally some basic info about yourself. Current agerange in the group is between 25 and 35 (no one under 18, please) but what is most important to me is that you are reliable and into creating an interesting story together with the rest of us. Depending on the application I won't schedule interviews with everyone but I will respond to every pm I receive, more care given to those that seem genuinely interested or even ask sensible questions (*gasp* ;) ). This is not a first come first serve, but if you are slow to respond then yes it could happen that the character spot is already taken. ------ A bit more information about the campaign. We are using the Apocalypse World system with the maelstrom and everything but putting it into a scifi Universe. The party is currently in possession of a liveship who is the only ship capable of jumping far distances and explore/go from there, discovering different planets new alien races and trying to somehow get along with each other (or not) during all of this. So basically the theme is a mix of Voyager/Firefly/Farscape, the technology level that the PCs would be used to more like Star Wars without the Force, so no replicators, transporter beams and whatnot but yes to Droids, some alien races etc. in the known universe... Which of course says nothing about the part of the Universe the PCs will be thrown into :) So yeah, basic theme is a small group of people on their own (weird) ship trying to survive - and what they make of it. We will actually have conversations about desired tone and how dangerous the universe should be etc. every now and then, so please be prepared to be at least somewhat involved in the ongoing process and very much voice your opinion, please. Good communication is key. I myself have been a GM for about a decade (a player for more than that) with various systems like Star Wars, D&D 3.5, White Wolf stuff, Pathfinder, DSA (The Black Eye) and just freeform fun. The other players around me are people I have played/worked with before so everything falling apart is as unlikely as possible in case you are worried about that. As per the AW rules, we (and that includes me as the GM) will play to find out what happens, very much seat of your pants open world style where you decide where you want to go and what to do, though of course each session and interaction (as well as character backgrounds & bonds) gives me as the GM stuff to build on. The campaign will - like any other - surely have some humor in it but I ask my players to try and take situations and other characters (be they PC or NPC) seriously , meaning that insulting someone higher up will have consequences. Being outraged about a planet where slavery is common is all well and good, the question is how would you even begin to start and try changing a whole society? Is it even slavery or is it biological dependence or something else that just appears to be slavery because of the PCs perspective? A good rule to remember in general: Actions will have consequences, as will inaction , of course... And no, I am not above killing or jailing player characters if the fiction demands it. For rules regarding netiquette (yes, they have unfortunately proven to be necessary) please refer to the campaign listing here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/17460/apocalypse-world-alice You can also find the date & time for our next session there (it shows the time in your timezone) at which point we would also create the more elaborate stuff of your character together and players will have a chance to veto aspects of other characters if they feel it will be impossible to play with them for one reason or another. The criticism for that, of course, must be constructive. -Maybe- we will be able to already play again this monday (I would certainly love to), but we'll just have to wait and see on that one - depends how well the interviews go, really. I explicitly allow PVP in-character , the characters will probably know each other but they don't have to like each other or favor the same approach or even have the same goals entirely. Out of character everything should stay respectful which is one of the reasons why I feel it is important to chat a bit after each session to make sure everyone is still okay with everyone. Any questions, just ask here or again via pm :)
Damn, sounds like my kind of game. Really unfortunate that I'm not available on these days. I wish you lots of fun!

Very unfortunate, looking into your post history you seem like a sensible player. Also *bump*, we are still looking for a player.
In a discussion post the group has decided to reboot the campaign for the new player this time around (since we were literally only 1 session in). So if you like getting in at the beginning of a space-exploring campaign, this is the one for you :)
Mondays work for me but I have no prior experience with Apoc World.
No experience is fine, Apocalypse World is a very rules light, narrative focused system and I am always willing to sit down with players and chat/teach/discuss stuff outside of session time. :) The question would be if you can only make Mondays, because unfortunately Monday-only wouldn't work for us unless you can make Friday evenings as well. So... can you?
I could make it work.
Alright, sent you a pm.
Recruitment is closed, thanks to everyone for your interest - we will let you know of our decision asap via pm - good luck to everyone, be it in our campaign or on your path to another! :)
