Desperate new player wanting to play DnD

No seriously, i don't have discord i just wanna play so please come on COME ON COME ON  AHHHHHHHHHH!! JUST LET ME PLAY DND WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT OR USING DISCORD OR VOICE CHAT.
While it is your choice of course, limiting your method of interacting with people (A lot of people use discord) and also limiting yourself to voiceless can really limit the field of play.  I wish ya luck though.  Have you tried looking on other sites for stuff that is pbp?
i don't know
give me suggestions please
Are you unable to voice? Do you not have a microphone?
Gabriel R. said: give me suggestions please Find something play by post (pbp) there are tons of games for it on R20 and other places.  I don't do play by post anymore but I did some on giant in the playground. I will say if you are anti any form of voice and anti discord in general its going to be hard.  A lot of campaigns use discord for tracking things (my games have their own discord server and only a small part of that is for the voice comms).  I don't know what you reasoning is against discord specifically, but if you can get over that bit there are tons of communities looking for players and tons of communities that do pbp. The reason I say pbp is that if you have one player in a game not using voice and everyone else is, either that player is going to suffer from not having as much input or its going to be dragging down the speed of the game in most instances.  Unless you can type as fast as everyone else can talk *and* find a group willing to be reading chat while other stuff is going on, its going to just make things slow.  It isn't a personal attack on you, but if people are looking for a player not having a mic is a pretty big negative unless you are playing in a format where time is less of an issue.

You may want to try and come off friendlier or at least less antagonistically. We can't read your mind and so far you've basically demanded suggestions and acted like the person stating the above couldn't tell the obvious. We don't know your situation. If you're really desperate, suck it up and learn discord and buy a mic. Get used to voice and prepared to make some sacrifices to play a game. It's not something that is just going to be handed to you: Games are collaborative stories told by all the players and facilitated by a person who puts in a lot of time. The way you've acted so far/presented yourself does not seem conducive to getting into a game. They are basically job applications, unless you are paying for them.  If you are vehemently against discord, chat programs, whatever, you're just going to limit yourself. Most Westmarches are Discord based AFAIK. Maybe find a PbP based server or look for those games specifically. I'd also try to come to them like you're trying to make friends or meet someone you respect, just in general. Makes a better first impression.
