Looking for military veteran group to play with (or not).

I've been playing Starfinder, but I really want to play D&D. I enjoy making characters with extensive background, even if only I know about it so I'd like to find a really good creative group to play with. I'm even willing to come in and play an NPC (voice and all) for an active campaign.

I've got a couple of 35-32 year old army brats that get the humor, grew up in base housing here :) I've run Only War games for Veterans and First Responders and a Prison Guard, so if it's the vibe you're looking for I think we might have something to talk about.
