Someone gifted me subscription, I guess to activate it I had to put in my own card info. If I only wanted to try it for 1 month with the gift and not pay for it myself do I just cancel my subscription now? How does this work?

Cancel, and you keep your benefits thru what is paid. So, of you have one month, you'll still have that month if cancel today.
