Tokens snapping to grid

I've noticed that on square grid, tokens snap to the grid by their top left corner regardless of the token size. On hex grids they snap by the center, also regardless of token size. Could this be a selectable method? Personally I think that for tokens, having them always snap to the center would be superior as default, because tokens not perfectly synced in size work on hex, but not on square grid. For example, if you have square pngs of two humans, but the pictures are not on same scale, you would want to alter the size of the other to make them match. On hex grid they still stand on the hex, but on square grid the top-left snap moves the image off the grid, if the size is not equal to a square. Annoying. Of course you could also have an actual 2x2 token, so having the ability to choose snapping by center or by corner would make sense. I guess the top-left snap makes sense in placing the maps, but often tokens would benefit from having a "center of the mass" snapping at center.
I agree, and it should be a per-token setting with a game setting for default behavior. For hex grids, some games (Lancer for example) use token sizes that don't center on a hex (for example, tokens that take up three hexes in a triangle) - this is very awkward with the current hex grid behavior and requires awkward token sizing. Being able to select aligning to center or to corner, regardless of the grid type, per token, would save a lot of headache.
