LFP (4-5 Slots) - D&D 3.5 - FUN & FRIENDLY - ALL WELCOME - 2 OLD SCHOOL HOMEBREW CAMPAIGNS, PAID (levels 1-15+) - WEEKNIGHTS OR SATURDAYS TBC (CENTRAL EUROPEAN TIME) - €10.99/SESSION

Greetings fellow edition 3.5 enthusiasts! My name is Guy, I’m 48, I live in Paris France, and I’ve been running unpaid games using the 3.5 edition for over 25 years. During Covid, I started playing on Roll20, and my current group of players just celebrated their hundredth session playing together. I’m keen to share my homebrew campaigns with new players and to make the leap into paid dungeon-mastering. The Setting I have run two very successful homebrew campaigns set in the fairly low magic world of Midgard. Inspiration is drawn from Germanic/Nordic folklore, Athurian legend, Middle Earth, as well as modern influences like Terry Pratchett, Ralph Bashki, and G.R.R Martin. It is very much "old school" fantasy. I also enjoy keeping a degree of realism in my world, so players may find that they don't achieve instant fame and glory in the early levels of progression. The first and longest running campaign is called The Knights of Stormgaard. It's a classic medieval rags to riches narrative, and it can be split into several modules, running from level 1 to 15+: module 1 - Journey to the Oldenheim module 2 - Wetlands Witch module 3 - Ragnar’s Tomb module 4 - Sanctuary of the Gods There are two optional addendum modules: module 5 - Rise of the leper Messiah module 6 - Into the Feywild The second campaign, Pirates of the Southern Seas, is shorter (levels 1-12) and draws inspiration more from Jules Vernes and pirate tales. module 1 - Chasing Pirates module 2 - The Savage Isles Expectation s My game style is much more geared towards collective story-telling rather than uninterrupted dungeon bashes with video game dynamics. That’s not to say that strategic combat isn’t an important part of my game, but there might be sessions where the focus is entirely on role-playing or exploration. I enjoy a linear narrative with a lot of forward momentum. That’s not to say that I railroad, but there is a narrative framework provided for the players’ enjoyment, and they will probably find it more rewarding if they engage with it. I like to keep my sessions relatively short (under 4 hours), so that there is an impetus to move things along at a decent pace. I play in 3.5 because I’m very familiar with the ruleset and the subsequent editions never inspired me to change. It has a lot to offer in terms of character customisation, but there’s also a lot of overpowered fan content out there, so any feats, prestige classes etc from outside the core rulebooks would have to be discussed with me first. At the start of the campaign, I will provide player characters with a few backstory details in order to integrate them into the world and the narrative. I’m happy to hold the hand of any players who are unfamiliar with the rules. We would play using the Roll20 platform, with Roll20 tokens and imported backgrounds. I sometimes use artwork that has been uploaded to Pinterest to illustrate settings or NPC’s. Overall, it would be fairly lo-fi, we would mostly be using theatre of the mind. I'm part of the group of players mentioned in the intro and just wanted to say that Guy is a great DM with great mastery of DnD 3.5 rules. Adventures are well balanced between role play and combats and Guy has a special talent to spice things up and keep us players on our toes while rewarding players with a creative approach. Sessions are a blast with lots of fun and banter. I'd highly recommend!
good old 3,5... Strongly suggest Guy as a DM, believe me you will earn every XP with blood and sweat...and still have a really good laugh
