these types of posts always make me giggle. its like walking into a company and demanding that the CEO be interviewed by you in order to hire you.

genuinely curious, what is the incentive? if someone has the wherewithal to gm, why would they apply here instead of just posting their own thread, lfg, etc.? one that they have creative and narrative control over instead of having to cave to the whim of a bunch of strangers who wont even put in the effort to gm but want to dictate the 'campaign/vibe/tone'? there is no shortage of players seeking gms for any number of systems. but more importantly, if you have a group together, why wont even one of you take up the mantle and gm? the hardest part of gming is finding players willing to 'buy in' emotionally/creatively/mentally, which is predicated on some amount of trust. if you already have a group together, a decent one would have a modicum of trust in each other, and therefore the bar for becoming a gm is much lower.

the snarky elitism of this fandom always make me giggle. its like you want new players to join your hobby but put them down and psychoanalyse people for wanting to play it.

you dont know me, you have no idea what i want lol

but you didnt refute any of my points either

i dont particularly care what you do, just drawing a comparison - if you consider that a personal insult instead of critique, thats a you problem and not a me problem

i said my piece, i clarified it in my post even, if you cant take a moment to do a little introspection - why even respond? you could have just ignored me and i would have disappeared like sand in a desert, but you resummon me with s reply and dont even say anything worth saying

you talking about me needing to do introspection and saying nothing of value is incredible irony

interesting that you still continue to ingnore the crux of this entire conversation, almost olympian how you still manage to dodge every point that i made instead of refuting ANY of them... says a lot, imo. but its okay, it was apparent from the get go that you dont want a conversation, as indicated by your original post, you want an on-call coolie that doesnt ask questions and will let you use them.

so, uh, good luck finding one

Thought there might be a game starting.

Even if you disagree with how they approach finding a GM, maybe this isn't the place to try to take them to task. Unless you're stepping up yourself.

Sounds like a spicey gang you got there. I wish I was man enough to think I even had a chance

Again, it's funny that people in this community seem to complain about a lack of people, yet berate and personally insult others for wanting to play or asking questions.

Even friendly advertisements get met with ERM AKSHUALLYs and elitist, egotistical paragraphs like people are expected to know the ins and outs of your hobby then acting like we're in the wrong because we dare to try it. Referring to yourself as the "CEO" really highlights what I'm talking about, as well as being so deluded as to think that people need to refute your points in an argument that you started, like you're an authority on all things tabletop and then psychoanalysing them because THEY must be abnormal for not wanting to engage with YOUR petty rudeness. Do you genuinely not see the irony in saying things like "you want an on-call coolie that doesnt ask questions" while berating someone for asking questions? come on man. get real.

What was even wrong with this in the first place? we only wanted to talk with someone to see what kinda angle they wanted to take for a campaign idea and how we could make some characters to fit into their world, see if we got along with them and when we could play. Should I have said "looking for a rude, argumentative and pedantic ass who can't make our schedule" instead?

and again, I am not the one who needs introspection in this "argument" (you making assumptions, psychoanalysing and insult slinging over a game, then demanding other people's time in arguing with you. Funny, you seem to have a problem with people making demands of others)

Genuinely no need for this childish behaviour at all man, honestly. It's supposed to be a fun hobby not a debate club.

0 is ego tripping. People need a way in, if you're gonna be that guy and make it difficult for everyone else - at least be constructive and say something worth our time.

I might be interested actually, i'll send a dm in a minute. For 0, I am a DM and i prefer browsing these boards for people looking for a DM instead of posting that i'm available, i prefer hosting a game with some direction from the players, so its fun seeing what people are after and choosing my players based on that. People do different things 0, get over it.
