Name and Time Zone   Matt  (Gmt) Your Discord Handle  Savageapanda What excites you about this campaign?  i am a lover of Grim dark fantasy Berserk, Castlevania,  witcher, grimm hollow are some  setting I adore and love (Optional) A brief description of your playstyle or a character idea. TTRPG experience around 7-8 years with DND 5E  a small bit with 2024 ruleset & I have played other systems  like pathfinder, starfinder & monster of the week,  and dming  one shots for all of them but never a full campaign with  me being a very fun approachable defiantly a roleplay heavy  support/ tank strategist kind of person 4) At least a rough idea of your character  I have been really wanting to run a Dhampir Beast master idea, the last campaign I had fell through after DM Ghosted us after two sessions.  Lauretta Sylvia Vassemont has served the Vampire mistress for as long as she can remember, must have been over 200 years ago, as she was enlisted, being saved by her current master. Being a person that always had an affinity to nature, thanks to her mother teaching her druidic magic. However, being the child of a human woman and something serpentine or draconic in nature, her mother never really wanted to divulge that tale.  it was not until she was older that her features decided to become more apparent, growing when her emotions show more eyes like the slits of a serpent's scales on her face, her hands scaled, she yearned sometimes for the blood of animals never intentionally going for humans. Distraut after her mother not telling of her heritage, and with an encounter with a village calling her out for being a freak she was being shunned away from civilization, running into the forest, to try and survive, she was saved by a noble woman a countess Jessica Alabaster when her carriage stopped on the side of the road noticing Young Lauretta, not being scared of lauretta visage, trying to make light with her having long fangs also and can be a little scary 2 sometimes, offering her safety, food and shelter if she only accept She accepted was a little shy Due to this she never tried to interact too much with people, thinking she would scare them, over the years becoming trained to be a Maid, a hunter for the family, survey the land finding and proquring pelts, rare medicinal herbs & teas for the family to sell, donning a mask to hide her features. But she felt indebted to them, offering her services to them, after she made a full recovery For years she worked many odd jobs tending to the manor, cleaning, deliveries, messenger. Until for all her work she was given the choice of vampirism, which she accepted, never being accepted by most people  she considered it a gift  and as a sign of loyalty to her house. Now with her companion Vritra gifted to her from her late mother a companion she gained a bond spiritually with, going with her wherever she travelled aided her if conflict everbrew. She continues her tasks whether big or small, being comfortable with her part in life.
Greetings :^) 1. Name:  Ray      Time Zone: EST      Discord Handle: RayForce 2. What excites you most about this campaign?     Full disclosure, I played a little CoS before. Campaign got as far as LV5, which I imagine is a decent chunk. Then it died off because the DM got burnt out. So what excites me is starting CoS over from scratch and finally getting someone's complete COS-package. One of my favorite memories from that campaign was my dual-wielding barbarian losing an entire arm early on and never getting it replaced until lv5. Consequences are fun 3. Overview of DND experience & playstyle     For experience my 1st campaign ever was SKT , which I was pulled into midway to fill for players that left. Than it burnt out near the end because players kept leaving. My 2nd campaign ever was some of CoS , which was amazing up until it ended with a good group and amazing DM. Played in a bunch of one shots, played a couple floors of the Mad Mage Dungeon . And that's it. One big part of my DND experience is that I've only played with one group so far. This would be the first time I'm ever looking for another group and playing with strangers. One of those players from my group also replied to this same post & recommended I reply too     For DND playstyle, I usually like to play tanky characters that can enable the rest of the players. Doing damage is fun, but taking a beating is the most fun. I love doing voices for characters. My druid in SKT had a Charlie Day voice, my barbarian in CoS had a Braum voice. 4. Character idea?     I don't have anything solid yet. I'm very OK waiting to see what everyone else is playing then filling a role that no one else wants to play & that doesn't step on anyone else's toes. Most of my character ideas I pull a lot of inspiration from media for, I do have a decent idea for a character inspired by someone from Chrono Cross that'd be a Paladin, but I'm keeping an open mind to play anything. For characters I also like leaving gaps in their backstory so the DM can fill it in and surprise me with something down the line.
I'll be honest: I'm very tempted but the time doesn't work perfectly for me. If it were starting about an hour later, I'd jump at it. One question: which version of 5e - the 2014 rules, or the 2024 rules? Oh, and I may not be available some Saturdays. I run/attend SF conventions and sometimes I'm away at a convention, or have a convention meeting. To answer your questions:  Name/Timezone/handle: Saul, Eastern, Discord handle: SaulJaffe Well, I enjoy horror (fan of Lovecraft and play/run Call of Cthulhu) and I've always wanted to play Curse of Strahd. I know a little about the story and might consider a dhampir or reborn character. I've been playing/running D&D off and on since 1977. I've gone through a lot of play styles (and DM styles) over the years. I recently ran Tomb of Annihilation for about 4-5 years. I'm generally a by-the-book type but can be flexible. I'm looking for a new D&D group at the moment as my old group fell apart for various reasons. Most of the groups I've been involved in were not big on the "role-playing" aspect of the game so I'm a bit weak in that respect. Character ideas? I have lots of ideas but it depends on whether it's 2014 or 2022 rules. Some ideas work better in the different rules sets. For the 2022 rules, I'm leaning towards a GOOlock (have you heard of the King in Yellow?) or a Rogue/Soul knife, or Gold Dragonborn Warrior of the Elements Monk. If it's 2014 rules: I have a Harengon genie warlock idea, a shadar-kai sorcerer, drow or half-elf drow gloom stalker (depending on your ruling on light sensitivity), or Tabaxi monk (Way of the Shadow) maybe multiclassing with rogue. I have more ideas I can discuss with you.
