LFP: Open world sci-fi campaign, Monday/Friday @ ~19:00 CEST

Recruitment is now closed! Thanks for looking, good luck finding a game :) TL;DR - We're playing an open world sci-fi game, Monday and Friday evenings European time, and we're looking for another active, reliable, adult player to join us. If you take the crew from Firefly, put them in the living ship from Farscape, send them an unimaginable distance away from home like in Voyager and have them investigating new planets, species and technology like a Stargate team... you'd end up with something a little bit like the game we're playing. The campaign is a freeform, open world style of game. It's very roleplay heavy and VERY slow paced. Our GM is all about the exploration, discovery and character interaction. I honestly can't stress that part enough. We do get into fights and combat does happen, but it's rare for combat to be the main focus of a session. Don't be surprised if you go a full week without touching the dice. If you're looking for hack and slash action then this is NOT the right campaign for you. It's also not the right campaign if you're the type of player who prefers to sit back and follow along with what the rest of the group does. Passive players are going to get bored very quickly in this kind of game. We're really looking for the kind of player who is going to do things, someone who is going to explore, investigate and ask questions. Someone who really wants to help us to tell an interesting story. Gameplay is done via Teamspeak, so make sure you have a decent quality microphone. We play on Monday evenings, as well as on Fridays when everyone is available. We start at roughly 19:00 CEST and play for about 5 hours, with a short chat afterwards to talk about things like what worked, what didn't and what needs to be changed for next time. Mechanics wise, we're using Apocalypse World as a base with some additional bits tacked on. The Angel, Gunlugger and Savvyhead playbooks are taken, while the Hocus and Hardholder aren't allowed because they don't quite fit in the current setting. If all that appeals to you and if you can actually make the times posted (no, seriously, please make sure you can play for the full 5 hours), then great! The current age range of the players in the group is 25-35, and ideally we're looking for someone who fits in there somewhere (at least 18, please!). Experience doesn't matter, Apocalypse World is easy to teach so new players are perfectly welcome. The most important thing is that you're dedicated, reliable and interested in helping us to tell a cool story. The plan right now is to get everyone together for group interviews on Friday to make sure that we all get along with each other. If you want in, post a basic character concept with a paragraph or two about yourself. Either as a reply here or in a PM, whichever you prefer. Maybe try and include the word 'llama' in there so I know that you've read through this mountain of text. It's not that I don't trust you, it's just that... well, no, it's that I don't trust you. If you have any other questions, again, just post them here or send a message :)

I am very interested in this. My timezone is GMT and i am 18 years old. I've never done Apocalypse world before but i am all open for giving it a shot. I will send you the Paragraph about me in a Pm.
Last week, our Savvyhead and Gunlugger stabbed one hundred screaming potatoes to death. (Bump)
Still looking for that brave space person to go into space and find out what cool space things there are!

I think everyone can sympathise with that, Kasey. As a player, all the awesome sounding games are happening while you can't play. The moment you decide to GM instead and schedule a game, every single person you know (and half of the ones you don't) become too busy to play. It's the eternal struggle of gaming. Scientists should really be working to solve that problem. Kevin, sure we can chat. I've sent you a message.
Hey, if if you still have space I'd definetly be interested in joining. I've been running a apocalypse world game in a 'traditional' setting for a few weeks now. And other than a one shot I've never really found a group to join as a player. Looking forward to see what will make a scifi setting in this system sets it apart. Timeframe and play style should not be a problem. ~Zenmah.
