Fresh out the womb never played before!

Hello, I have never played any table top rpgs or dnd before but I really want to. I read the wiki guide online regarding the rules and things to look for. Honestly, I would be happy with anything, would really just like to get my feet wet. I am a bit intimidated because I have never done it before and was hoping I could maybe find a cool group that could maybe help me out. Not sure if this is the place to post this, so I apologize in advance if that is the case. -Tom

Hey man, easiest way to get a group is to check out the Looking for Group forum, The one this post is in. When you see a post about a DM searching for players go ahead and post the info he needs and mention that you are brand new, Most gm's don't mind new players and are happy to help. And remember if you don't find something today you can always look another day, Theres always new posts! id like to point out to that if you want fantasy games you should search for D&D 3,5, Pathfinder, D&D 4e, D&D 5e etc. If you like more sci fi keep looking for shadowrun and starwars etc! D&D 5e is the newest dungeons and dragons and might be easiest for you to learn since there's only 1 book to read. Rest of the stuff have tons and tons of books to "learn everything" with new races etc. If you find a D&D 5e group you wont be bombarded with choices to make and will have an easier time to learn. Though as i said most DM's are happy to help any any game that they tell you it's ok to join will propobly be fun =)
