Leverage Starter Campaign | Roll20: Online virtual tabletop Assuming folks want to play Leverage 'out of the box', it's modern day, and the first session is The Recruitment Job, where you fill in your character's attributes, figure out how you work together in-game (teachers and students at a university, ex-crooks, ex-soldiers on the run wanted for a crime they didn't commit  :), show you're the best at what you do,  and so on). Now you help the defenseless being ripped off by the rich and powerful,  to get their money and lives back. Alternate settings include historical, futuristic, you're active crooks with tarnished hearts of gold (The Sting set in the U.S. Depression, the Hustle British series), or a secret agent team that is non-James Bondish (the original Mission Impossible series). Character sheets are on Roll20 and no random die rolling to generate characters. Everything is in die types (d4, d6, d8, and d10), and you start with a d8 and d10. Your roles are theoretically Grifter, Hacker, Hitter, Mastermind, and/or Thief. So you might be a Thief/Hitter d10/d8. A role covers _everything_, so if you're a Thief d0. you roll a d10 in everything Thief-y. You have six attributes, so you roll an attribute + role die. A Thief might have a Dex 10 and Thief 10. There are ways to get more dice, but you still only keep the best two values. Every 1 you roll is a future Complication for you or a teammate, so don't roll too many dice! There are no set TNs, but opposition rolls their own dice. A schmuck d6 rent-a-cop d6 rolls d6 + d6. They roll first, you know what they rolled, and you have to beat their total. Sound easy to win? Sure: you're the best thief in the world and roll 2d10. At least in the top 10. But maybe that schmuck rent-a-cop rolled a 12. Maybe your d10 Hacker is somewhere else. Uh oh... :( And... that's it. There are a few things like HTH fighting, but it's all based on that. There's no equipment or money. Well there is . Sort of. but it doesn't work how you think. No bookkeeping involved. See ya there. :)
