Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: any (but be aware most are still green) Location/Timezone: Weekly Saturdays. Victoria, Australia AEDT/GMT+11 Still looking for that newbie friendly game to join? Want to join an early campaign and grow as a party? Look no further! I’m a new DM who has run a couple of short 3shots and an ongoing campaign! This is a free campaign but I am always open to Roll20 donations… and food Running the session in Roll20 (D&DBeyond characters accepted), and Discord. What are we looking for? • 1 or 2 players • Saturday AEDT Weekly 4hr session (AEST Timezone, any welcome) • 18+ (for now, sorry kids) • Heavy roleplay encouraged, at least one combat encounter per session (trying to find balance) • All player experience levels welcome, just remember DM is still a newbie About my DM style: I’m a new DM with a little experience and a lot of study. The party is a group of new and intermediate players from Australia. I enjoy weaving character backstories into the plot. If you want to create a secret or personal quest for the party to discover later, I’m willing to keep your secret while we create some mind bendy moments for the rest of the party! When it comes to world-building, I like to take a collaborative approach with players contributing to the overall world building. The ruleset is 5e, with some 4e and 5.5 flavour for seasoning! Bastions or strongholds will also make an appearance for those who are into that. Even a little homebrew thrown in! I try to make maps for all occasions or otherwise use pre made map, and tokens, for most of my campaigns. Some theatre of the mind, as I realise I have bitten off a lot. I’m big on following the rule of cool and encourage players to get creative and come up with fun, wild ideas. Setting Highlights: The tone is a mix of high fantasy, swashbuckling, and mystery. While there are threats to be faced, much of the adventure revolves around exploration, investigation, and unravelling the lands secrets, rather than constant combat. The group encourages role-playing and decision-making, and the choices players make will influence how the story plays out. Overall, it’s a great starting point for new players or players looking for an adventure that blends lore, exploration, and mystery, while being accessible for those new to Dungeons & Dragons or looking for a more narrative-driven experience. We kicked off with a prebuilt module called Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. This is now complete but we find ourselves with 4 sailors and an inherited ship and room for 2 more seafarers. The world of Finestra remarkedly resembles that of Faerun. After fending off zombies, ghouls, a dragon, lifting a curse from an island plagued by zombies, and gaining unexpected feathered friends, our party of budding heroes travel the Sword Coast seeking that which was lost and stolen. The seas of Finestra are plagued by pirates and unscrupulous sailors seeking their own hoard. There are whispers of a pirate threat echoing the region and the party has scores to settle and secrets to uncover. The party has settled in Orlumbor for a few days to seek repairs to their ship, “Third Times a Charm”, after a run in with a Harpy and Giant Squid while responding to a call for help from the monks of Stormwreck Isle. They have decided to take this time to explore the township and pick up some local bounties while they await the repairs. Campaign Themes: • Pirates, quests for vengeance, unsolved mysteries! • Navigate the fine line between conflict and peace. • Solve mysteries, uncover secrets, and untangle the motivations of the worlds villainous ones. A little about the party: • PC’s: Barbarian, Bard, Rogue, Warlock. • Ages range from 20 to 50 with players all over the country. • Queer friendly and welcoming group • Currently 5 guys (DM included) • English speaking (lo siento) • keen for passionate storytelling and creating fun, immersive games for my players. • Lifetime video gamers, board gamers and nerds. Drop me a PM or comment below if you have any questions, I’ll have some of my own ready for you too!
