A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones (By Green Ronin) Fire and Blood Era, ~3 Centuries before the First Novel. About the Fire & Blood Game of Thrones Setting Fire & Blood is set during the early days of the Targaryen dynasty in Westeros, focusing on Aegon the Conqueror’s unification of the Seven Kingdoms. Aegon I Targaryen, alongside his sisters Visenya and Rhaenys, rides dragons and seeks to bring the fractured kingdoms under his rule. This is a world of political intrigue, epic battles, and ancient prophecies, where the Targaryens wield immense power, and dragons reign supreme. The struggle for dominance between noble houses, the mysteries of the Valyrian bloodline, and the rise of Aegon’s new empire shape the fate of the realm. Tensions are high, and loyalty is often tested—every decision could lead to victory or ruin. Concepts to be explored through play: What drives you to either support or oppose Aegon’s rule? Is it ambition, loyalty to a house, or a desire for change? Or perhaps a personal vendetta? What role does your house play in the unfolding conquest? Will your house ally with the Targaryens, resist them, or try to manipulate events from the shadows? How will the ancient powers of Westeros, like the Faith of the Seven or the Old Gods, react to Aegon’s rise? Is there a religious or spiritual element at play in this struggle for the throne? What secrets of the Valyrian bloodline or dragons might be uncovered during the conquest? Are there hidden dangers or forgotten powers that could change the course of history? How does the presence of dragons shift the balance of power? Are they a symbol of power, a weapon of fear, or something else entirely? What are the consequences of their use in battle and politics? Which houses will rise, and which will fall in the wake of Aegon’s conquest? What does loyalty mean in a world where alliances shift constantly? Who will be the power brokers of the new Westeros? What is the legacy of the old kingdoms, and what parts of their culture will survive Aegon’s rule? Will the traditions of the First Men or the Andal rule persist, or will the Targaryen influence erase them entirely? How do the common folk of Westeros view the Targaryen conquest? Are they hopeful for peace, or fearful of the changes coming with the dragons? What personal goals and ambitions do your characters have, and how will they intersect with the broader events of the conquest? Will your character remain loyal to their house, try to carve out a personal legacy, or be swept up in the changing tides of war? Can Aegon the Conqueror truly unite Westeros, or will his rule be challenged by rebellion, betrayal, or even his own family? What forces—whether political, military, or mystical—will threaten or support the new regime? We have three players, who are portraying the scheming lord and his younger brother, as well as the steward, and an envoy of a small house of a landed knight near Dragonstone. Next session will continue character generation and house setup (Free). So far they have a small seaside castle with two towers with a small trading / fishing town with a dock nearby. They are developing a nearby field to farm grains and make dyes, and perfumes for trade, as well as alcohol. Military strength is five warships, a House Garrison 100 strong, and a raiding party that is 100 strong. We could use two more players. 2
