SquirrelGames said: Hello, I've run a bit of L5R 5e and played a bit and all my books are just amassing dust ever since. I'd like to find a game to play. Preferably in the era represented in the L5R 5e core book, or before, maybe shortly after... but if after, then an alternate history. Even when I tried 4e I didn't like where the history went with the Scorpion coup and after. Not picky on clan or role, but I don't want to play Ronin because that's what I played before. I'd like to get immersed into the setting so mature and passionate people preferred Mind you, that doesn't have to mean serious all the time. I like my dad jokes and my memes as much as the next gamer. Thank you. P.S. and disclaimer: I'm the "good" kind of rules lawyer. That is, I'm not going to go look for obscure rules to gain an advantage, but if someone messes up a basic rule (as in, from the core rulebook), I'll point it out. If a GM goes directly against a basic rule (ex: dice roll steps) despite having a rules aid that says exactly how to do something, I'll be pissed because it shows a complete lack of caring. Yes, it happened. Hey there, been looking to get into some new systems since I've been burning out on my usual stuff. I could probably look into L5R 5e, especially with a rules aficionado such as yourself at the table. I haven't touched L5R since 3e so I'd have a lot of reading and lore to compile up to the modern era of game and see if it radiates with me. Last time I ran the game someone tried to start a fight with a servant because said servant offered a bath after a long travel, which the player took as "being called unclean to the soul." If we gel, if I can get the books and things work out, we can see. My current Saturday game imploded due to the great scheduling beast so I have a prime real estate time of TTRPG days open. Also, 0, you come in hot telling the OP there is "no good rules lawyer," quote some grognard that has nothing to do with L5R except for the tangential aspect of it being a TTRPG, and then suggest no one sapient would want to play with the OP. Someone points out you're being abrasive and you can't even take a modicum of accountability. It's a good thing God calls people to forgive because Jesus Christ sis, you need some help.
