A taste of what's to come: On the outskirts of Daggerford, hidden back from the road by a copse of trees, stands a house of many stories. Some talk of the Durst family, the last official owners of the house, who seem to have vanished overnight. Some speak of travelers taking cover there, the weird noises they heard, and the weird things they'd seen. Some yet, in hushed tones, speak of treasures the fairly wealthy Durst's must've had, to have such a fine house as it used to be. Many blame the house for the misfortunes that occasionally plague Daggerford, but that may be no more than a convenient scapegoat for the small farming town. So, be it for treasure, for mystery, for adventure, for bragging rights... Durst house stands waiting for adventurers brave enough to walk its halls. Get to know me Hi, I'm Brandon, a full time GM who takes pride in the stories they can weave. I've been running games professionally since 2020 (Though that was hardly my first games), and have several groups that have done a multitude of campaigns with me. Curse of Strahd is a special campaign to me, full of great memories of fantastic gameplay and roleplay opportunities. I am a roleplay centric GM first and foremost, and believe that what's good for the narrative is key to enjoying the experience. For those who might ask, I do believe I'm fair, choosing to make my rolls visible most of the time to my players, and let them dictate exactly what is done. But know that I'm always rooting for my players. In my games, I offer a handful of 3rd party content. Inspiration cards really mix things up, adding surprises I can't see coming, and I have a critical failure deck that makes every nat 1 exciting. I make use of many books from Kobold Press, as well as Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting, and Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt. Additionally, I take pride in my homebrew. For this game, I have access to both the 2014 and 2024 ruleset, and I'm completely on board with players choosing which rules to use for things. Personally, I'll be using a mixture, since some things are... more fun in 2014, and others got a much needed overhaul in 2024. (Lookin at you, Exhaustion!)
