The World of Aetherion Aetherion is Faerûn reimagined through a superhero lens —a world where magic is power, and heroes are the only ones who can keep the balance . Cities are full of masked vigilantes, magitek-powered enforcers, and villainous masterminds plotting in the shadows. You’ll train, grow, and eventually take on world-shaking threats in a structured but open-ended story . How the Game Works We have a 7-act roadmap , but nothing is locked in. Every player gets the chance to run a session (if they want) as part of the bigger story. When you DM, you’ll focus on a one-shot tied to your faction or character’s ultimate goal (excluding your own character). The main plot moves forward only when players decide they’re ready —so we keep the freedom of an open-world game while still having direction. Example Scenario Say your character is a former villain trying to clear their name . When it's your turn to DM, you might run a session where the party has to infiltrate an underground crime syndicate to recover proof of your innocence. In another session, someone else might run an arc where your past crimes come back to haunt you , forcing you to make a game-changing decision . Why Join? Players can roll stats in our Discord using the best of three full sets or take a 36-point buy —but you can only choose one. If you roll poorly, you cannot switch to point buy. The Day : Monday, 3/10/25 Session zero on 3/10/25 The Time , pick your time zone : 6:30 PDT,7:30 MST, 8:30 CDT, 9:30PM EDT Starting level is 1 , and the game progresses to level 20 . Max HP at level 1 ; after that, roll for HP each level (reroll 1s). We are using the D&D 5e 2024 ruleset . All official content is allowed , but if a 2024 version of a feat or spell exists, we use that over the 2014 version . You are creating normal D&D characters (subclass and all) with superpowers! Superpowers come from spell-like abilities, racial traits, and creature abilities from 5e.
