Imgur interest check

Feel free to add me to the list, making a world (watching a tutorial on how to do so :P) at this very moment.
Certain races in DnD have certain perks. We can play this super casual and do it mostly story-telling with fights and thus circumnavigate a lot of that crap, though. But, you'd still have to figure out perks and things. Like, I think elves get more base dex than a human does or something.
Imgur name: spiderskullisland
is there a site were i can see all the races and perks?
Id love to join. Keep in mind that I have no idea how that works. So if you have a tutorial for me or want to talk me through it I would gladly play along. If that seems like too much work I would understand that. Imgur name: GepanzerterPenner.
I'm still around but do have a life outside of the Internet (sadly) like I said, I will be back after I'm done with my horses in a few hours... if somebody else wishes to DM, I am more than happy to let them lol
going for food. be back later.
This is a list of every playable race. However, the GM has the authority to limit what you can play as. I mentioned the perks and stuff because if we use his custom race, he'd have to decide on what modifiers come along with that race, but here's the list: http://ihititwithmyaxe.tumblr.com/post/9678117696/... I recommend waiting until he gets his world set up and ready to go, that way we can choose races that make sense.
And we're all learning as we go along, Sascha. d: We'll get everyone situated and ready. (also, not trying to undermine our lovely DM here. Just trying to help as I can. Feel free to tell me to shut the hell up if needed)
Oh yeah Imgur name: Tomnificent
Looks like I wont sleep tonight... Im in Germany and it is 0:47 AM here. But since I have a day off tomorrow Im more than happy to stay :)
Working on the new map as you guys are chatting, designing where the party begins
I have school and work tomorrow until 7PM EST, but I'm free for the next couple of hours while I do my homework at least. And I'm "Ninko" on Imgur if that helps. Changed my name on here because someone already shares my first name and last initial.
putting in the walls of the building at the moment.
I still have no clue how to play, but I still want to. You'll just have to be patient with me.
I was OP of the Natural 20 post BTW
I just saw a tutorial and there was this board. Do I have to download that or not?
nice, rest assured, im almost finished setting up our first area (an inn, it takes longer then I expected to get everything down :P
Alex. Do you have any experience with any of this or are you learning all of it just now? x)
so, what does who want to be?
This sounds awesome, I'd totally be down. I vote GURPS if we have a choice in which system.
I'll be the cleric. As for actual character development and skill information, that will have to wait, unfortunately. I have schoolwork that's becoming rather difficult, so I have to break away and do that.
Alex, what do you mean with "what does who want to be?"? Are there any other roles to be fulfilled other than the GM?
sorry but I already set it to 3.5 :P my bad max...
what do you want your character's names to be... what do you want their class to be. One class and 1 subclass, classes avaliable are Paladin, Priest, Knight, Rogue, Assasin, Spy, Barbarian, Monk, Druid, Summoner, Necromancer, Mage, Sorcerer, and Undead variants of them all, be noted the undead get an intelligence drop of 3 points.
what does each class do? And does it limit choices i can make in the future?
Is subclass just one of the ones you just listed? Like I would be Frank the Paladin with the subclass Monk?
Oh my god. Priest Barbarian. Please. And name would be Grigrg (He's a barbarian. He also just shouts at everything)
Hahahah. Priest Barbarian. That is absolutely gorgeous.
Paladins are holy warriors, normally wielding either a two handed weapon or some sort of sword/mace and a shield, Priests are the best healers alongside druids, priests can command holy light to smite people and normally wield a sort of pendant in their hand along with other holy items, knights normally wield a sword and full plate armor, may or may not have a horse... your choice on that, Rogues are sly, with a voice (and the occasional sword and smoke bomb) as their weapons of choice, assasins are sneaky bastards, slinkin all over the place with daggers, Spy's are decievers, wielding the power of deception they can trick a lot of people into giving up intel, Barbarians normally hold axes or swords, no shields for the most part and rely on quickly and brutally overwhealming your foe, i have decided to use a character gen for it instead but I will continue describing each class, monk's are calm, really calm, they beat the crap out of you with various weaponry using staves is common for them, druids are the protectors of the wild, healing, killing, summoning, and occasionally shape shifting as they see fit, summoners do exactly what th ename implies, necromancers are kinda like summoners but a bit more moody at times and with dead people, sorcerers consider reality a choice they choose not to accept, mage's are wielders of magic, blowing crap up with magic bombs and what not, i feel sorry for you if you do not know what an undead is.
Sarah H. said: what does each class do? And does it limit choices i can make in the future? Each class affects how well your character does in certain situations. Like, you'd expect a paladin to triumph over the undead because paladins normally have holy powers given to them by whatever God they've aligned themselves to. And it doesn't limit you in the sense that you can't do something, but it can limit your ability to do something due to dice rolls that are affected by your class and the perks that come along with it. For example, the paladin can pickpocket someone, but you'd expect the rogue in the group to have a much better chance of succeeding.
Danny S. said: Hahahah. Priest Barbarian. That is absolutely gorgeous. I'm going to just scream in people's faces to heal them or punch them.
that is beautiful
ill work on setting up the characters then, anyone have any preferences for classes?
Classes? Like Bard or something like that? I can only use my rather low RPG knowledge...
Barbarian-monk named Uruk. I have to peace for a while but I will check in later
Tom H. said: Barbarian-monk named Uruk. I have to peace for a while but I will check in later Those two are a bit contradictory. Barbarians attack with rage and passion while monks are more cold and calculating.
Well i have never played a game like this and i have no idea how to do it but i would love to give it a try
I'm back!
Sorcerer named Zuzu. Pyromaniac. Halfling (idk which kind yet)
Never Played anything like this before... Really want to try, how about we start with a short campaign, something for all the new players to try out before going into a month long campaign or something like that. Just a thought....
As it stands: we have a ton of people here, so hopefully someone else can become a GM and hold another game while the one that Alex is creating runs as well. Otherwise, it's going to be confusing as hell (I think).

I'm feeling either Paladin or Rogue

An Assassin/Rogue as subclass, named Slevac. non-undead pls, he needs to have quick wits.
From your description, I would like to be a Paladin, with a Monk subclass? Staves count as two handed weapons, right? And the name will be Aria
I see your point about the barbarian/monk thing. I could probably just go half Barbarian as long as we don't need a subclass
