Hello, my Pathfinder 1E group is looking for a couple of players to join us for Iron Gods. Our schedule is set for Fridays, 5-9 PM US EST time. Please look over this post in full before contacting me. Here's what we're searching for in a player: ⦁ Someone who understands the basics of Pathfinder 1E - movement, combat options, action economy, for example. ⦁ Tying into the above, someone who pays attention during combat and executes their turn quickly. In tough situations taking extra time is understandable. ⦁ Someone who can create an original, effective mechanical character but can also roleplay as the situation arises. By the same token, someone who isn't going to crap out a cookie-cutter "build" they copied from some guide or the internet. It's tedious seeing these builds played over and over again, and copy-pasting something from a guide doesn't make you a good PF player. ⦁ Someone who creates a thematically appropriate character according to the adventure path - playing a druid with a T-rex companion in Cheliax really makes sense, after all! ⦁ Someone who understands their class and archetypes, as well as their abilities and feats. ⦁ Someone who understands how to use the Pathfinder Community Sheet. ⦁ Someone who understands how to build a character without being reliant on third party tools such as HeroLab. "HeroLab says" isn't an appropriate answer when I ask you to break down your attack bonus or AC for me. ⦁ No rules lawyers, munchkins, spotlighters / "theater kids", or people trying to "break" the game. As the GM, I: ⦁ Modify the content of APs as necessary to compensate for class composition, party choices and behavior, and general writing shenanigans. ⦁ Restrict options based on the adventure path - typical is 20 point buy (dependent on the AP), no hybrid classes or archetypes / options that grant hybrid-like abilities. These are subject to change based on the adventure path. We as a group don't like the use of feats / spell loops / combinations that are intended for abuse, or are intentionally misinterpreted for abuse. ⦁ Have adjusted and clarified various abilities, feats and spells that were either poorly written, easily abused (and were encouraged to be abused by the community, such as on forums), or otherwise broken. When sending me a message on Discord use a banana emoji to show me you've read this document. They're called house rules and they're not uncommon. ⦁ Do not ego-stroke you as a player, nor is it my job to fluff your character - there are other groups and games better suited to that. My job is to provide and present challenges for you to overcome, and respond appropriately to your decisions. I'll be happy to provide character creation rules once you contact me via Discord - neutralevil .
