[LFP] Monday evenings 7PM GMT DnD 4e Custom setting.

We're looking for two to three players. We will play Monday evenings GMT. All OOC is done in Skype (better to have some laughs), but IC happens in text in chat (better for RP). You can find the documentation on the setting here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/p4zdnsocvb4h2tp/AADbOtASaKfrjRYq2EeHJgmaa?dl=0
Hi there! I'm Az, and you can read a short summary of what I'm about and what I'm after in this thread of mine . Feel free to inquire if you need more information. :) I'd still like to know some things about the campaign, though! 1) What's the method of stat generation? 2) What are the available sources for feats, powers, items and so on? 3) Backgrounds and themes - yes or no? 4) Are there any other restrictions? 5) What's the expected ratio of narration, RP and combat? 6) The campaign setting details an extremely segmented world. The divisions between the three empires seem very pronounced. Where do the PCs fit into this story? 7) You say the IC is text-based. Does this include DM narration? What's the style of play used, ie. how much detail do you expect? (as in, is it just characters speaking and a coarse description of actions, or does do you expect detailed, embellished descriptions?) Since typing does make things somewhat slower, how long is a single session expected to last time-wise? 7) A little bit more about yourself and the other players involved in the campaign! (For example: ages, personalities, what they're playing, etc.) Thank you very much!

Alrighty, answers! 1) The ones listed in the Player's Handbook, 24 point buy, 4d6(-worse). No standard array (too crappy). 2) You can point me to where you took the feat/power/item from, I'll allow it. Oficial sources only, though. There are many unbalanced things in the nternet. 3) You're more than welcome to make a background. Making one means maybe something in the story will tie-in with your char. 4) Not so far. We're using Roll20 character sheets. That's pretty restrictive already :P 5) One glass of narration, Another of NPC interaction and two spoonfuls of combat. With a pinch of loot. Bake every week. 6) The world is not that segmented. I just described the tensions in the land, but for most people life is the usual struggle (Use a hoe, get drunk, plant seed, get drunk, wait, get drunk, harvest, get VERY drunk, repeat). The segmented world makes room for intrigues and power struggles. The players will be in the middle of it all, while trying to pursue their own agenda. 7) I try to write the flavour text in advance, so it's just copypasta, but I can write some detailed descriptions if the situation arises, or even speeches ^_^. As for your detail, add the detail you feel necesary. There is no bar of "you must be this tall to ride", but make it understandable. I expect the sessions to be at least 3 hour long, maybe 4. 7bis) I've DMed five campaigns, two of which had to be cancelled for one reason or another, the other three ran for months (not the three at the same time). I've DMed DnD3.5, Star Wars Saga, Shadowrun 4e, a heavily customized version of Stars Without Numbers and my own Star Citizen RPG I wrote (never got much atention), You can expect handouts, maps done in CC3 (with CD3 and DD3) average skill (still better than a stick map), good sense of humor here and there, twisted plots and a forking adventure. About the other players, We have three Americans I talk to as much as I can; I'll review characters right before we start, but if you feel like sharing, you're welcome. Can't tell much about their personalities, I've met them less thana week ago, and don't know their ages, but in my book all ages, sexes and orientations are welcome (I'm 27, just in case). I hope you decide to join us! :)
Hey! I've decided to give another campaign a spin for now. I may return if you end up still having room, but for now, I'll pass. :( Thank you very much for the answers! I hope you get a good group goin'. :)

Hey, after glancing through the ton of 5e's (which I don't feel like moving to just yet), I found your 4e, and would love to join if you still have room. 4e is the only system I'm familiar with, I've played it for two years, (albeit very on-and-off), and I'm currently in a weekly campaign with my friends, so rule-wise, I would say I fall under intermediate. I do, however, have the occasional thought drain, and forget "when x is y, x is z..." etc. etc. (i.e., Marking with the Fighter I'm playing...x.x ) I'm not a huge people-person (first meetings, at least), but solo campaigns haven't gone too well, and I don't have the patience to make another party hahah, so I thought I might as well get out there (I do have a +3 Sense of Humor though), and your through-text roleplaying method appeals to me (I do type fast, so typos do unfortunately happen). I do have Skype, a mic, and a webcam (I'd prefer not to use the webcam if that's quite alright). So yeah, if you still have the room/are running the campaign, I'd definitely join (schedule permitted, though I should be free). The setting really piques my interest. I'd prefer playing a Striker or Leader, but I'm a capable Defender (who isn't, really? hah), and can manage a Controller (Invoker-only, Wizards have too many things I don't feel like jotting on my character sheet :P ) if necessary. Thanks, -Kris
