Come on Roll20! What kind of crappy end user experience are you delivering?! What is this?! What a rip off!

Hi JoeDub,  I am not able to replicate your screenshot. (see below) Have you tried deleting the entry from the Journal tab and then dragging it from the Compendium again?

A refresh did nothing.  It seems Roll20 is making the platform more difficult to use in a vain attempt to keep up with DnD Beyond; the end result is stuff just does not work :( Running games here is increasingly frustrating. Roll20 has become the Temu of VTT gaming platforms as seen by this D&D 5.24 Monster Manual token drop. I understand theatre of the mind, but this is absurd.

....meanwhile this token drop was successful and the character sheet was filled out. Surprise! Purchasing WOTC products on Roll20 and playing the game here is a crap shoot.

I suggest filing a bug report regarding issues as they come up. You can do that via the Help Center .  In the meantime, if you post each issue I or others can try to help you get through the issue.  Regarding the two issues you have posted:  Compendium creation of character sheets have always had a small percentage of failures.  The solution when that happens is to delete the character and try again.  Regarding the empty token, again, it seems like this might be a failure to create the Character or the token when dragging from the Compendium.  But without more information on when/how this token came to be I cannot be certain.

I run paid games on Roll20 five nights a week, and the percentage of token failures is about 30-50%. At this point the platform is so unreliable for 5.24, there is no point in being here anymore.  Secondly, why are you responding and not people who work for Roll20?

The Bug Reports & Technical Issues forum is primarily community support. If you want to communicate with Roll20 directly please file a bug report via the Help Center . The Help Center is better set up for the management of bug reports.

I think the bug is called Jumpgate. Sadly, the only available character sheet for D&D 5.24 is through Jumpgate beta. What a mess!

Jumpgate does not have anything to do with the character sheet you are using. (With the exception of using the D&D 5e 2024 by Roll20 and the D&D 5e 2014 by Roll20 sheets together.) If you wish, you can use the D&D 5e 2024 by Roll20 sheet on the Legacy Roll20 (rather than Jumpgate). But you won't have the ability to also use the D&D 5e 2014 by Roll20 sheet in the same game.  Have you filed a bug report with Roll20 as suggested earlier?

Yes, I have filed a bug report and I have decided to abandon Jumpgate beta-nightmare as best i can. I'm a paid DM running games 5 nights a week here, and it has been a low key nightmare using a bug ridden Jumpgate.  Reverting back to the older platform, instead of using Jumpgate this week, has been amazing because, the features I pay for on Roll20 actually work!!! However, there's that issue with only Jumpgate beta allowing character sheets for D&D 5.24 rules, but 95% of my players use DnD Beyond for their character sheets, so that is almost a moot point. Still, it would be nice to offer that option to players who prefer Roll20.

Just for some context to clear up any misconceptions: Jumpgate was made available for all users in August 2024 Dual sheet games were made available in September 2024 Jumpgate was moved out of Beta in January of this year.

Egads!? So this is the final product result of Jumpgate?!   I suppose I should start looking elsewhere to run my games on VTT then because, tokens from the D&D 5.24 Monster Manual do not work and Roll 20 is selling subpar licensed products.

Yes, D&D Jumpgate sheets do not work and legacy sheets still do. I'm so glad to hear Jumpgate is no longer in beta and works "good enough" that we still need to use the old character sheets.  lol Gauss said: JoeDub said: However, there's that issue with only Jumpgate beta allowing character sheets for D&D 5.24 rules, but 95% of my players use DnD Beyond for their character sheets, so that is almost a moot point.
