Hello! My name is Will, 24M, and the Sea of Valtherus is a world I have been working on for quite some time. The theme of this world is simple; I run a few campaigns that thematically are performed alongside one another(Though I only ever run 2 actual campaigns at a time), intertwining stories into one massive world nearing the brink of ruination and all the different quests and journeys that occur hand-in-hand, without even necessarily being aware of one another, to stop it. The ultimate goal is to have all of the campaigns culminate into one final grand story, and thus far its been going really well. Each session has a large amount of effort placed into it, with mods/plugins added to ensure smoothness and help create a more atmospheric online-tabletop experience. I've sank a lot of money and time into the world and I don't plan on stopping soon. We use the new OneDnD Rulebooks. A general list of Q&A answers is below: We will be using Experience Points by large, the intention is a long term campaign and I personally balance my experience points a little differently. Monsters give them, sure - and that alone is quite slow for leveling. But I also give out experience for achievements etc, combining it into a pseudo-milestone system where I can bump people ahead if it feels like it's been too long since an increase. We will be beginning at level 3! We are aiming for a party of 5, but we are willing to begin once we hit four 4. Healing Potions are bonus actions for rolls, actions for max healing! We roll stats! I am very kind, allowing for 7 sets of 5d6 minus the lowest 2, and dropping the lowest total set as well. Heroic stats, enjoy :) I do allow for certain adjustments and/or original 5e content, dealt with case by case. This Campaign would take place within "The Heartlands" - The northern landmass around the central Sea of Valtherus, where the city-states there have begun forming into a singular kingdom for the first time in centuries. With a nearly monotheistic culture, the people here deny the worship of other gods beyond the "Three Creation Gods" within their own pantheon. There is a large culture around the slaying of dragons within this region, where adventurers and armies march against young dragonspawn several times each year. Adult dragons are rare, but young and wyrmlings are more common. Something has occurred recently to stir troubling rumors. It has become known that King Crysteffor Bale has gone quiet and vanished inside of his castle, refusing to leave for any reason, no longer making any public appearances. Throughout his time he has been a well known and well liked king by many, personable and friendly, and a popular leader. With a notable exception being those of the Isle of Ashenrock, a colony subjugated by the King's father fifty years prior, only just recovering wholly from the war that left their island tarnished - and the location our campaign begins. There is a lot more lore available for reading far more in-depth once you have added me on discord! Session 0 will be character creation. Session 0.5 will be a backstory session tying in the histories of the players and laying the groundwork for session 1 inevitably, years later in-campaign. The discord will host a large amount more lore ready, and I'll work with each person individually to make a character they enjoy! All in all though, expect a slightly more horror-undertone to this campaign, based around religious aspects of the world.
