"Is this a map?" Bug

Hello, I am getting this with *every* *single* token or asset I place down. Every one of those bodies? Got this. Every individual bloodstain? Got this. I've clicked don't show me again, and it doesn't seem to register that. It is making map creation incredibly hard and tedious- I could put it down on the map layer, but I've placed a lot of things down already there as far as the actual map itself goes. It's a city under siege- I had to individually wreck everything to make it look appropriately war torn. One wrong click and everything shifts, and that can be a pain to deal with if control+z doesn't work- it's easier to do this on the token layer and then send it all to the map after they've been placed. Can someone kindly look into this bug?

Hi Baleful Eye,  When you click "Don't show me this again", what are you clicking immediately afterwards?
I have tried both (Place on this Layer/Switch to Map Layer), as well as just exiting out, neither of them seems to have worked for me. It always comes back.

It shouldn't be coming back unless you are preventing cookies.  Please go to the My Settings tab, go to Graphics, then checkmark "Disable auto sizing of assets dropped on the Map Layer".  Refresh the game. Then check the checkmark. If it is gone then the problem is that something in your setup is preventing the cookie from taking effect.

This is almost certainly related to a recent change in placing behavior. From the Changelog for April 1 : Added a quality-of-life improvement to prompt users to switch to the map layer when an image above 700x700px is dragged onto the VTT I'm not sure why that number was chosen as the arbitrary cutoff, but it seems to be what you are running into. It's likely that those bodies are way oversampled. For instance, if they are intended to take up 1 grid square, anything more than 175 pixels across is overkill. (70 pixels * 250% maximum zoom). It's possible that those with HD monitors may be able to see benefit of up to 350 Pixels (175 * 2), but my guess is that the native size of those bodies you are placing exceeds this 700 pixel limit. Nevertheless, I'll see if I can catch the attention of the dev team for more info on this.
Hey Gauss, I tried giving that a go and it didn't work unfortunately.

Granted I could just do it all on the map layer, and copying/pasting from previous maps seems to work as a workaround for now, though it DOES seem to arbitrarily change token sizes it seems, requiring additional fine tuning to the copied assets which can also be a lot of work.

Ahhh good catch Keith, I missed that.  Baleful Eye, I apologize for missing that. :)

But yes, it seems to be a thing that's pretty much across the board. Even bloodstains I got from the Roll20 marketplace are triggering it, so it's really all up to the individual artists.

Baleful Eye,  The issue of the "Don't show me this again" not working should now be fixed.  Additionally, Roll20 has adjusted the 700x700 pixel limit upwards to 1750x1750 so folks won't be seeing it as often.

I am not a Dev so I cannot speak to that. But if you checkmark "Don't show this again" it won't appear again (as of the bugfix today). Note: that is probably based on cookies so if you clear your cookies you might see it again.

It also shouldn't be triggered by a character token of any size, which should cover things like large spell templates.
