Limitation on number of players for an instance of a game

The current player limit is 15 players per instance of a game with 5 slots for games to share instances. This seems like plenty to most people; However, I GM professionally and found it easier to consolidate all of my players into one game in order to not have to constantly move things over using the transmogrifier. I currently have 26 players on my singular instance of my game and I am not using the other slots. I was hoping that there might be some consideration of players sharing a compendium be a number total across all games rather than assigned to each slot or some mechanic where I can forfeit slots to transfer the amount of players to another game slot. I understand that this is probably an infinitesimally small problem in the larger community of roll20, but as it is none of my players are able to access the compendiums I purchased for their and my benefit. Having this resolved in some way would greatly improve myself and my players' experience. I know I e-mailed about this awhile back, but I was hoping to get support from other GMs that might also have the same issue.

Hi Thordyn,  Could you explain the comment about "constantly move things over using the Transmogrifier"? I am curious if there is something we can suggest to streamline that.  Regarding the limitation, you may want to post a suggestion regarding this in the Suggestion Forum.  Also note that if it was your intent to contact Roll20 this forum is primarily community support. I suggest filing a Help Center request to contact Roll20 directly.

Hey Gauss, Sorry about posting it in the wrong forum. I am more than happy to move it if needed. In the meantime answers to your questions.  > " Could you explain the comment about "constantly move things over using the Transmogrifier"?  I am curious if there is something we can suggest to streamline that." I run Shadowrun exclusively and as such all of the content I run has to be input manually, from NPC sheets, handouts, and any maps or other resources I use. I currently have 7 groups running concurrently and therefore as I am adding content to one module, I previously had to then use the transmogrifier to transfer over all of the changes to each group that was running the same module. I started out having separate groups and it was a huge time investment to do this. Consolidating to one group has saved me a ton of time for that process.  > " Regarding the limitation, you may want to post a suggestion regarding this in the Suggestion Forum.  Also note that if it was your intent to contact Roll20 this forum is primarily community support. I have contacted roll20 directly in the past, but as I said I was hoping to get support from the community to further my cause, because I was told that it was not something they were considering any changes to. I will repost this in the Suggestion Forum, I apologize for my mistake in posting this here.

Ahhh yes, the manual input of content can be a problem across multiple games.  One solution might be to make a Master game that you then spin off copies for each new game.  Another solution might be via an API Script that pulls in changes and applies them to other games. Since you have a Pro account I'd ask the folks in the Mods (API Scripts) forum to see if something like that is possible.

I’m running multiple The One Ring 2e games, and I create all content in a TOR2e Library game (maps, Adversaries, handouts, macro mules, etc.,) leaving only Player-Hero journals to be created in each game. I tag with the game abbreviation where possible and backup the PH journals to the Library game too.

A script could be written that would copy multiple handouts in one game and create those handouts in another game, but it would depend on the scope whether such a thing would be worth writing. I think the Transmogrifier would be faster in most cases.

It still takes A LOT more time than it does now that I have consolidated into one game.  Andrew R. said: I’m running multiple The One Ring 2e games, and I create all content in a TOR2e Library game (maps, Adversaries, handouts, macro mules, etc.,) leaving only Player-Hero journals to be created in each game. Having switched to one game has saved me a massive amount of time. Even with the 5 game slots, I run into the problem of the fact that I am running 7 games currently, but with a max of 7 players per group. This configuration doesn't work for me anymore.
