A lot of the SCP are you get caught you die and even if the SCPs don't kill us the foundation will probably make us disappear in one way or another. Not a fan of making new characters on the regular. That's a fair point — a lot of SCPs are pretty much instantly lethal. But as a GM, I wouldn't put my players against something they have no hope of beating. That's just bad Game Mastering. Plus, there are just as many SCPs that are easily killable with a gun but are creepy, elusive, and hard to pin down. Not to mention all the SCPs that aren't harmful but could still cause situations that would need to be dealt with — all while avoiding the effects of the SCP itself. Throw in the various Groups of Interest, Foundation politics and intrigue, morally grey questions about what's right versus what's necessary for the preservation of the world, Dark godlike entities scratching at the door of reality, alternate timelines, secret histories of the world, and a truckload of other elements, and you have all the materials needed to build any number of epic campaigns with engaging character arcs and compelling storylines. As for the Foundation, while there are stories that portray them as uncaring and callous, using employees as little more than disposable tools, there are also stories where they stand by their own and fiercely protect those who share their goals and beliefs.
