Roll20 not showing critical hits as green (nat20) or red (nat1) with jumpgate

We started playing a DnD campaign with Roll20, and natural 20s and natural 1s would show up as green or red in Roll20. We switched to jumpgate, but I don't see this highlighting anymore. How can I turn that on?

Hi Aquaricorn,  Which character sheet are you using? That is probably the source of the change, not Jumpgate.
We're using the Beyond20 extension to allow folks to use their DnDBeyond page, as opposed to one of the built-in character sheets. Maybe that's not supported anymore?  We also found last night that there was some issue with using Beyond20; clicking on say an attack to-hit with a weapon didn't roll dice or lead to results in Roll20 like it usually does.

Beyond20 and DnD Beyond are not Roll20 products. Which character sheet are you linking Beyond20 to?
That's correct, which is why we use Beyond20 to link to the DnDBeyond page. Prior to the shift to Jumpgate - which may have nothing to do with it - we rolled dice on DnDBeyond as supported by the Beyond20 gadget, which would then have the rolls appear in the Roll20 session chat - with crits highlighted in green or red, depending.

Still need to know which character sheet you are using to link Beyond20 to.

I.e. which character sheet is being used by the game settings, regardless of whether you are directly using it or not.
Ah I misunderstood, since we don't use the in-game sheets.  So on the out-game settings page it says "You've enabled a second character sheet for this game, so the sheet selection dropdown has been temporarily disabled. To re-enable it, please remove the second sheet via the in-game settings tab." In-game, it says for "Default Character Sheet for Adding Characters" = DnD 5e (2024) For "Default Character Sheet for Dropping NPCs" = DnD 5e (2024) And below both "Remove DnD 5e (2014) Sheet"

To clarify, Beyond20 connects to a character sheet and then uses that sheet's output methods. Thus, the problem you are having is likely to be that you are using the D&D 5e 2024 sheet as the primary sheet and the D&D 5e 2014 sheet as the added sheet.  The primary sheet controls many aspects of the game. IIRC, Beyond20 is engineered for the D&D 5e 2014 sheet, not the 2024 sheet.  I would start by making sure your player's characters are using the 2014 sheet, since that is what Beyond20 was designed for. If that doesn't resolve the issue then I think the solution is to switch to only the 2014 sheet, or to flip the sheets so that 2014 is the primary sheet.  You can do that by copying the game (safety measure), then remove the 2014 sheet (via in-game settings tab), then go to the game settings and switch the 2024 sheet to the 2014 sheet. Next, you can re-add the 2024 sheet back in via the in-game settings tab. Finally make any corrections that might be necessary.
Update, that seems to have worked! Not exactly sure how or why, but I made a few copies of the game and set the game settings (out-game) to the 2014 sheet. After that, it doesn't seem to matter if in-game I have selected any character sheet, or whether I've selected 2014/2024. The chat window portrayal for rolls has reverted to the pre-Jumpgate style and it shows nat20s in green and nat1s in red.

Aquaricorn said: Not exactly sure how or why,... The "Base Sheet" of the game has the hooks that Beyond20 is looking for. The "Secondary Sheet" is a very recent development and Beyond20 was not written to look for it. Only in the case where the 2014 sheet occupies the "Base Sheet" position can Beyond20 fully function.

The only change Jumpgate is doing here is to allow you to use two different character sheets in one game.
