I'm now looking to run a campaign of Rise of the Runelords for Pathfinder 1e, an iconic adventure that was my own introduction to Pathfinder and the wider world of tabletop RPGs! I'm looking for 4-5 players interested in running through the adventure that started it all, whether you're a veteran of the hobby or a new player just like I was over a decade ago. You can find the LFG listing on roll20 Here! Rules We'll be using 25 point buy, with two traits or three with a drawback (one of which must be from the Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide). Any and all official Paizo material for Pathfinder 1e is permitted! Safety My table is a safe environment for all players. Bigotry and homophobia will not be tolerated, and is grounds for instant removal. Rise of the Runelords covers many topics, some of which may be uncomfortable to some players. As such, as part of session zero (or upon joining the campaign), we will discuss player limits and comfort zones; Accommodations can and will be made to the AP as appropriate to suit these limits. Furthermore, I have an open door policy as a GM; Players are always welcome to approach me in private to discuss whatever issues or concerns they may have. Requirements This game is Text-only, meaning no microphone or webcam is required! All you need is a roll20 account for the virtual tabletop and in-character posting, and a discord account for out-of-character chatter and between-games communication. All official game material can be found online via Archive of Nethys for free, and so no books are required besides the Player's Guide for the adventure path; This will be provided upon joining. Payment Payment will be done via Startplaying.games. The price is $15 per session, with a free session zero to create characters and discuss potential boundaries. About Me As a GM, I believe that player enjoyment comes before hardline Rules-As-Written. I have no complaints with bending the rules to facilitate a fun moment for the players, as ultimately we're all here to have a good time! Likewise, I like to reward players for creative and outside the box thinking, and have no issues with "letting it ride" if the players find an unexpected and clever solution to a problem they're facing. Ultimately, my approach to GMing is that the world in-game should react appropriately to the player's actions; If a difficult encounter can be made easier through the players' smart decisions, it can and should be permitted! In terms of roleplay vs combat, I lean more towards roleplay heavy games than combat heavy. Pathfinder, of course, is a combat-heavy game and there will be ample opportunities to test your mettle against deadly monsters, however I like to fill those moments in-between with dungeons and encounters with roleplay, to help tie characters to the setting around them and make the stakes feel all the more real for it. After all, a fight with orcs is just a fight with orcs, but a fight with orcs to protect the caravan of refugees behind you is a memorable moment. As such, I love to weave characters into the setting around them via roleplay, and always go out of my way to integrate their backstories into the campaign to further invest them into the adventure at hand!
