Coinhollow is a Victorian fantasy setting within a post-apocalyptic, ocean-dominated world where land is precious and the sea is a source of corruption and doom. Magic is overwhelming and reality-warping, with those deeply attuned to it falling prey to The Draw—a haunting compulsion that lures their souls back to the sea, transforming them into eldritch beings in service of submerged dark gods. Scattered island nations cling to survival, their foundations literally and metaphorically sinking. At the center of this struggle is the Velcradian Reach, a surreal empire that maintains power and unity by anchoring itself—and others—through massive enchanted iron cables that span across islands, continents, and even into the heavens. This world blends Victorian aesthetics with surreal, oceanic horror and an all-consuming, sentient magic that reshapes the world and those who wield it.
