A god is trapped within the world, a prison made by other gods in a great war between powers. The world is flooded save for one landmass which has been hidden for ages by entities called the Menai. They are powerful blood-wizards, master manipulators, and slaves to their inhuman appetites for suffering and dominion. They are ancient enemies of the Lir, lupine creatures with great psychic power who live a tribal existence as part of the land. The folk (humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, orcs) lived on the sea for ages, but formed military society once land was found to be peopled with "demons", and began pooling their magical and technological knowledge in order to cleanse the holy Firma of monsters. A small forward unit discovered an ancient relic, and the tattered threads of the true story of the world, as well as the lost magics of healing. They have fought to preserve knowledge, defeat true demons, and have begun gathering the 5 crystal discs which must be replaced in a tower of crystal in order to free the goddess of joy and healing who lies trapped. The closer they get to the next discs the more difficult their steps... Now, our heroes travel the frozen wastes of the north, home to the blood-drinking menai and many relics of the world before this world. The Party has recently mad a deal with the menai Duke Vassiel, and it is a perfect time to get in at the early of this campaign! The characters are level 16 and are still delving into the mysteries of this world! To make sure new players feel welcome, and to alleviate any concerns of inclusion or immersion common to joining an existing campaign, I offer the following services: &nbsp;Interaction through text, and around 30 minutes on voice one-on-one to give backstory, setting info, and info on the game so far so that the new player can determine what their character has been doing so far. I will then message the party and catch them up on this. Once the session starts the players will recap the last session (as we do each session, for memory and continuity). Then I will introduce the new character and restate what they have been doing, and take a few minutes for the players to describe their characters, RP a bit, and familiarize themselves with each other.
