These games will use Roll20 and Discord and we will start at level 3 Athas, The Dark Sun. A desolate, desert planet ruined by arcane magics used in a long lost age by conquerors who sought domination and treasure. Now Athens is ruled by the evil Sorcerer Kings, who each claim to be living gods in a world where divinity has all but abandoned it, and left mad men and women who put on the mask of godhood to justify their horrid tendencies built on slave labor. Each day on Athas is a struggle. A struggle to find supplies, a struggle to avoid slavers if you dare to step outside a city's walls, a struggle to survive raids from ravenous tribes, and a struggle to find hope. But hope is not lost.
Tyr, a city in the far west has been a beacon to all those under slavery and tyranny. Many risk their lives to even catch a glimpse at the city's wall, but not many complete this venture. The mad Sorcerer King’s and their cult followers the Templar’s make sure the slaves of the city are kept in line and don't escape. After numerous escape attempts the Sorcerer Kings have gave more power to the Templar’s, making escape a suicide mission, and use brutality against those they capture to stoke fear in those who thought of escape. Now many simply accept their fate as pawns to crazed politicians and dictators, that is until a new hope appeared, a group dedicated to freeing slaves, killing slavers, and helping freed slaves escape to the city of Tyr where they could be safe. This group is named The Freed Lancers.
That is where you come in. You were all once prized slaves shackled to the side of the Sorcerer Queen Lalali-Puy, the absolute monarch of her city of Gulg. The city of Gulg is nothing more than an isolated commune, where each and everyone of the city's inhabitants worships Lalali-Puy as an infallible god, an eidolon of perfection, and the only reason there alive. On the outside Lalali is a beautiful and generous soul, who cares an unimaginable amount for her people while being a kindly mother figure to her own personal slaves. But only those very slaves know her true nature, when she is along with her slaves her mask drops, revealing a manipulative, seductive, and cold women who demands nothing more than total subjugation of slaves and her people, and those who defy her are ment with treatment the leaves marks, a brand as a reminder to what happens when you don't bow to the god-queen. One day a member of The Freed Lancers broke in to Lalali’s home to free her slaves. But when they were about to teleport away, Lalali found them and attempted to counterspell the teleport, but it failed, going wild and instead of teleporting to Tyr, the slaves were teleported all over the charted world of Athas. Now you must journey to Tyr, while also finding your lost slave brethren, and defending yourself from the horrors of the waste. Hello, this is a post about some Athas games I have currently open, and are welcoming new players. I have been playing D&D for about 9 years now (5 of which have DM experience), and I have about 4 years of Roll20 experience as both a player and a DM. Both new and veteran players are welcome at the table. If I could describe how I DM it would be a “Fun Trumps Rules” kind of vibe. As in if the players and DM dont like a rule about the game, or they want to add something that was not previously in the game we can talk it over and add/remove whatever is necessary to optimize fun. I will provide music, all the necessary books, maps, out of game assistance/help, and if the fates allow a full campaign. I do have some in game and out of game rules, but if you do not like the in game rules we can change or remove them. Out of Game Rules: This is a LGBTQIA+ Safe Zone Hateful words or phrases of any kind will not be tolerated, and will be met with an imminent ban and block from the game You are never allowed to take agency away from the players Do not do anything in or out of game that will make players feel uncomfortable Be on time and ready for game day (unless something out of game happens in which case let me know ASAP) I am always open to player input, and if you wish to see something removed, or changed in the game let me know and we can talk it out In Game Rules (Again if you don't like one or any of them let me know and we can change/remove them) Glancing (For both players and DM): If you were to roll an attack with a weapon or spell attack and you meet the target's AC (Armor Class) exactly, you do half damage. For example, if you roll an attack with a longsword or firebolt against a target with an AC (Armor Class) of 15 and you get a total of 15 exactly, you do half damage. All potions are a bonus action to use I use normal flaking rules with some levity for larger opponents (because it gets tricky to tell where flanking is against a Large or bigger enemy) I allow all official content Half-Elves are still a thing (No matter what WotC says) Also in regards to the 2024 rules: We will still use the 2014 rules, but if there is a strictly better version of a Spell, Ability, or Feature (Like how Healing Word and Cure Wounds have an extra dice) We will be using that because it is strictly better. That's about it, hope we can roll some dice together Here are the games: Game 1 Date/Timezone: Thursday, 4PM Central Time Frequency: Weekly Are We Past Session 0: No Current Party Composition: None Seats Available: 5 Link: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/419671/lgbtqia-plus-friendly-athas-a-pilgrimage-to-freedom Game 2 Date/Timezone: Thursday, 12PM Central Time Frequency: Weekly Are We Past Session 0: No Current Party Composition: None Seats Available: 6 Link: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/419633/lgbtqia-plus-friendly-athas-a-pilgrimage-to-freedom Game 3 Date/Timezone: Sunday, 8PM Central Time Frequency: Weekly Are We Past Session 0: No Current Party Composition: None Seats Available: 4 Link: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/419635/lgbtqia-plus-friendly-athas-a-pilgrimage-to-freedom
