Roll statistics ?

Would be nice to have a personal statistics over your rolls. Just info on how many times you rolled what, average..... and so on. Always nice to curse over when you have them bad days. Also to have the stats be based on dates, so you can look back on them and see how terrible/good you had some days.
They'd get boring after a few hundred rolls as everything averaged out to the appropriate statistical means. The Roll20 random number generator is quite good. For more info take a look at: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/63487/from-the-source-roll20-rng-testing#post-63487
I do not think each person makes "a few hundred rolls" per meeting. But some people can whine over the claim they that the roller is terible, then you can just say "Look over the statistics" and then they just have to shut up = Perfect tool
So you're thinking statistics over the course of a single game or across multiple games? Just curious.
Both So you can look that on "last meeting" I absolutely rolled terrible.... And also look at statistics from all your sessions. And these are ofc "personal statistics"
that would be a pretty fun data point. my assumption is that cross game stats wont be possible, as apparently nothing is transferable from one game to another, but i think a reasonble expectation of having time filtered roll averages within one game ought to be doable.
Well coming from the PoV of someone that has to deal with people mad about the "bad/unfair" RNG session local statistics sound like a huge headache. I have visions of angry players posting screenshots of their "bad" rolls for a session when they have much too small of a sample size to see even distribution. Samples large enough to not make my head hurt get boring since you'll just see a flat line of each number getting rolled with equal probability.
people could techincally do that now if they wanted with a bit of work. there would probably be a flood of screenies but you can always just refer them to your test case.
I might have to make a bot to just auto-reply to threads that mention RNG with a link to the RNG test data ;)
i bet once the api comes out i could put something together to track roll data and make your nightmares come true.
Ack! Well no, if you do something like that it would be cool to see. (I'll just forward all resulting RNG complaints to your email address ;) )
Hahaha.... Personally I love statistics, and looking over stuff like that is just fun for me. But ofc I can understand that yo guys might get some people who are upset over "bad luck". But if you hide away the stats in some sub menu, so that its not default showing after each roll or something to obvious then it would not be seen by everyone. And also have a note next to it in BIG CAPITAL LETTERS. WE DO NOT WANT E-MAIL ABOUT BAD LUCK, Or just have a sidenot.... "Angry letters about bad luck please send your email to the following we.dont.give@fuck.com "
