They did it, The Reckoners finally won. The long cold war came to an end on September 23, 2081 at 6:17pm Eastern Standard time. Judgment day arrived on the wings of irradiated ghost rock bombs, leaving about six billion dead. But that was only the beginning. Shortly after the dust settled, the Reckoners themselves appeared on Earth, straight out of the Book of Revelations. War showed up in Kansas, then stomped through the Dakotas. Famine Popped up in California, knocked what was left of the City of Lost Angels flat and headed east with a trail of starvation behind her. Pestilence was a late starter, but made up for lost time with a rampage through Texas, Louisiana, and points east. Death rose in Death Valley leaving a trail of corpses all the way to Mississippi. Then they simply vanished back east. Its now the year 2094, 13 years after the fall of the bombs. The wasted west is separated into many factions. The iron oasis is a group built from the fall of Salt Lake City. Now called Junkyard. Ike Taylor and the Council trying to hang onto a mix matched band survivors. General Throckmort of the Combine, sending out his Black hat mercenaries and automations from his headquarters in Denver to control and capture the areas around. Every month growing stronger as he gains more control. Silas Rasmussen, the so-called Mutant King, and his Cult of Doom, reaches out from his strong hold in Las Vega, city of sin, to gather more mutants to his cause. There are also many free cities struggling to make end meet. All trying to strengthen and prepare for when the Reckoners might return. I'm wanting to start a Deadlands - Hell on Earth campaign. Time is negotiable. The Campaign will be a hybrid sandbox and plot point structure. I will be using stuff from SWADE, Hell on Earth, Sci-fi compendium, Lost Colony, Horror compendium, Deadlands the Weird West. Theme will be Mad Max , zombie apocalypse, meets Deadwood , High Plains drifter vibe. I plan on letting the players dictate the scope of the Campaign with rules for building and improving settlements if that's what they would like to focus on that .
