Everyday Heroes Quickstart is useless.

So I was considering buying the core rules, but wanted to try the game out before I buy. Started the Quickstart game. There is zero character builder, and the compendium doesn't work at all in the game. There are not even character creation steps in a handout. Based upon my experience with the free quickstart, I am not leaning toward buying it at all. Really, the quickstart is in a useless state. Can access the compendium through the out of game compendium...but that does not help my players make characters. And there isn't an option to make a character in the vault either.

My suggestion would be to buy the rules, give them a quick try (no more than 15days), and if you don't like them get a refund. Roll20 has an excellent return policy .

Yeah, I think that's what a quick start is for. Not going to bother.
