Looking for API Script Suggestions “Desk / Pin Board” Handout Setup

Hi all, I’m running a Cthulhu by Gaslight game, and I want to create the feel of an investigator’s desk where I can lay out files, pictures, and handouts for the players. Or perhaps something more like a pin board , where clues can be pinned up and linked together. I already have a Pro account , so I’ve got access to the API. What I’m wondering is: Has anyone used API scripts for something like this before? Are there any existing scripts that might help with organizing, arranging, resizing or presenting groups of handouts or items in a more visual way? I’d love to hear any suggestions or experiences you’ve had with using the API to achieve this kind of setup. Thanks!

I ran a scenario like that. I use ColorEmote quite a lot (to pop images into chat, with words).  A new feature coming to Roll20 should be helpful -- "Map Pins linked to Handouts" but it hasn't launched yet.  Not sure what else will help with it? 

It's definitely some leg work, but you could make it work this way right now.  Use a map that's a desk or cork board.  Make characters for each file/photo (yes characters, not handouts).  Give them token pictures for the file or photo or what have you, if they're not perfectly shaped to the image size you may want to track down transparent PNGs or figure out how to make your own.  Then you can drag them out onto the desk/cork board.  From the token properties you can add a nameplate and have it appear under the token if you want, but most importantly you can add a tooltip so when somebody mouses over it they see the tooltip text appear.  You can use the drawing tool to connect lines and such, not quite as nice push pins and strings for a crazy wall, but it works. They're saying the first iteration of map pins linked to handouts won't let you use custom images, so it looks like I'm still going to be doing my map pins this way.
