Scrolling through the chat

I've been having a lot of problems lately scrolling through the chat. I can scroll back a few pages, but then it just stops. Even though there is more above, I can't scroll beyond a certain point. When I try to scroll back down, what is currently viewed scrolls up ok, but after that all I see is blank screen and the scroll freezes. This only started about two weeks ago. I've checked, and there's plenty of memory available on the system so I know it's not a system problem. I'm using Chrome  Version 140.0.7339.214 (Official Build) (arm64), on a M1 MacBook Pro. MacOS 12.7.6 and this is in a jumpgate game. I haven't tried any non-jumpgate games. However, I did try an incognito window and the same problem exists there. I'm not sure what else to check or test. Any ideas?

One possibility is your chat got corrupted in some way, has something it can't display, and the way to fix it is either: In your game > My Settings icon above chat > Text Chat Options > Clear Current Chat Archive (this just clears the Chat in your roll20 game window) OR Game Details Page > Settings > Clear Chat Archive (this clears your entire backlog chat to the beginning of your game) If you just want the problem to go away, try that. If you keep having this issue repeatedly and want to investigate why (such as possibly a broken Roll Template from a Character Sheet or something else), then maybe don't clear it and keep this thread open (or send a Help Center request) as someone else may know of ways to track down the cause of the broken chat.

Is there a lot of whispered or non-echoed chat going on? The latter is when you have a script that posts chat messages that are not persistent across reloads of the game. Either one can fill the buffer invisibly, and make it seem shorter. At least, that's always been my interpretation.

No whispering, no non-echoed chat. The game that I'm primarily having this problem with is my "test" game where I test out new character ideas, and test Roll20 features/changes before doing them in "real" games. So, none of the info in the chat is whispered or non-echoed it's just straight rolls (mostly) with a few comments I stuck in when I needed to differentiate between two things that might look the same such as an attack with some feature toggled on and the same attack without that feature. I could just zap the chat and start over which should fix things. But, I'd really like to try and find the cause if I can.  P.S. It's looking like a graphics problem; it's not a memory issue. The tab, according to Chrome, is only using 317MB which means it's not exceeding any kind of memory limits.
