Games for young players.

Hi there, my son would love to learn how to play. He is 10yo but is cognitively advanced. I wonder if there are any groups here that might be willing to take him on and teach him the game? I will be sitting with him (or making dinner or something) while he plays. So I can assist where I can. Ive never played myself but my brother did.. I observed that while we were growing up.

Since you’re very new here, it helps us if you tell us your time zone . For example, a GM in Sydney Australia has trouble with players in Los Angeles USA because the time zones don’t work well together.
I might recommend rather than counting on finding an appropriate Rando here that you may look into already existing places that might be safe for kids to play with other kids created by adults. I don’t know anything about it but just doing a quick random search online I see some promising things such as this: https://www.youngdragonslayers.com/ and there’s probably more like that. If they’re legit little organizations, there should be some kind of reviews or vetting process that you can feel comfortable with. Also, the official dungeons and dragons discord has a couple hundred thousand people as members so you might be able to find something appropriate there. Here you sometimes see games for kids, but it’s kind of rare in my experience. Certainly do an expanded search if you have not already.
