Come Join the World of Ascendancy              To the longest lived races of the world, it has only been a few generations since the gods walked the surface of Terran. All of the gods have since ascended to the freshly created celestial realms now completely separate from the material plane. Machinations of the gods have still seen the mortal races ever dance to their tunes and face great calamities. The human race, recently resurgent from the wilds, have been the cause of the most recent tribulations. To the humans of the world, whom now after a few centuries outnumber and dominate most of the other races, the majority of the gods are split into two great encompassing pantheons; the Pantheon of Order and the Pantheon of Chaos. A continent wide series of holy wars, now known as the Grand Crusade, has only just been won by the forces of the Pantheon of Order. Idraena, the final and holiest city to all of the gods, has now fallen under the domination of the forces of Order. While proper law and order are being enforced, there are muffled cries of freedom threatening to reignite more conflict. Our campaign has been running for around 3 years now. The dreaded schedule conflict has affected us this past year with a couple of players. So we are looking for 1-3 people interested in joining a dedicated weekly longform game.  The story is currently at a good point to explain away the absence of a couple of the characters and to welcome in new blood. This is a homebrew campaign using the D&D 5e 2014 rule set. Characters are currently lvl 9, with lvl 10 on the close horizon. Any homebrew for characters needs approval for balance and to fit the theme of the world. We use mainly use D&D Beyond for characters as that's where I have all my books and can easily add homebrew items/features. Roll20 characters are perfectly acceptable as well, I just don't have much in my compendium. As a DM I love a good mix of heavy roleplay sessions followed by intense combats that lasts an entire session. In my rulings I default to Rules As Written, but absolutely love a reason to bend those rules to tell a more interesting story if it makes sense. So creative uses of spells, features, or background information your character knows in world can solve a lot of situations if applied. I try to heavily tie backstories into the overall story, and our game has gone on multiple months long tangents chasing down random side quests or backstory plot points. Overall the game is a collaborative story I'm here to work with you on. We currently play on Sundays 4pm-7pm eastern, though might be able to shift around the time/day to accommodate new players.
