[1LFG][D&D 5e] Newish Player

I'll start off with some info about me: I'm 23 and I live on the East Coast of the US. I've been interested in playing some pen and paper games for years, but I finally jumped in a couple of months ago. My first RP was A Song of Ice and Fire - we started in June but at this point it looks like we're switching from a weekly format to a monthly format, if we're going to be continuing to play at all, so I'm looking for something to fill the void. I chose A Song of Ice and Fire RP as my first choice because I am a big fan of the book series and TV show, but I was also looking at other systems including D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder. Once I found out that D&D 5e was coming out I figured that it would be a good idea to give it a shot since it was new, and seemed to be getting pretty good reviews. I am hoping to find a weekly campaign that runs during the week (Monday through Thursday) starting somewhere in the evening EDT (6-9pm start time.) I don't know if anyone is really tinkering with the rules yet, but I would like to play without any modifications or anything like that. I don't really have any characters in mind, and don't have a preference as to what race and/or class I'd be playing. I would definitely prefer to join a new campaign, but I am not against joining a campaign that has had a spot open up. If anyone is running or is part of a group that might be able to take me in or would like to ask me some questions before making a decsion, then please post here or send me a PM.
