Incorporating Marketplace Campaigns into Your Own

I first thought to ask this on the Marketplace board, but looking at the sorts of posts, there, I thought it would be better to ask this here. How do folks do the subject? I bought a low level AD&D 1e campaign and am pretty pleased with the content looking through it, so far, and would like my players to have a go at it after their current scenario. I see two options. Is it better to: transmogrify characters back and forth between campaigns; or transmogrify the new campaign into the existing?  I think I'm going to do the latter for both of the two campaigns I'm running for two different sets of friends.  Wondering what folks think about the two options or if there are any other options? -- Tim

I would go for using the Transmogrifier to bring the content of the Marketplace campaign into your game. Create a Library game using the Marketplace content and then pick and choose as you like. I did this with a Pelgrane Press adventure for a play test of 13th Age 2e Alpha and it worked fine.

Check if the adventure is (or has a version that is) an Add-On product instead of a Module product. If it is then you can install the Add-On directly to your existing game. If it is a Module then you have the options that you thought of, and either way can work.  There are some pitfalls to watch out if you plan to Transmogrify the Module content into your existing game. If you do that, be sure to Transmog any "Characters" first (such as NPC or Monsters that have a character sheet), and transmog any Pages (Maps) after the chars. This is so that Chars who have Tokens on the map-Pages become properly linked. You see, if you put the Pages that have the Tokens first, then those tokens may not be Linked to the Chars.

Important stuff to know about characters first.
