S105_Vampire_Quest Recap: Friday January 11, 2019 She says she has killed Dracula
twice but he keeps coming back. She also says that he killed her once.
(Obviously she got better too.) With Network’s questions answered
Revenant gives her a tracking device that is small enough she should be able to
shape shift with it on (this is the reason she wears so little clothing … it is
as much as she can shift with). It is good for a week so they should compare
notes weekly and get her a fresh transmitter. The group begins planning for
their trip with the air-raft to go to where Lilli’s plane went down. The Black
Box has long since stopped transmitting but they have a good idea where the
plane crashed. Seach and Rescue found debris from her plane. Paladin is going to use his Detect
Vampire spell and try to find where she is; alive, sort-of alive, or dead. Resume Friday January 11, 2019 3:00 PM The Heroes
Two (Paladin, Revenant) heads to Lilli’s crash site. Big Tuna, Impact, &
Network stay at the base just in case any emergencies arise. The trip takes 2 hours and 15 minutes. When the
trio arrive at the location when search and rescue found the debris field
Paladin uses the improved ‘Detect Vampire’ spell. He finds a vampire ‘life
sign’ more than 13,000 feet underwater about two miles from the debris field
location. They zip over to it and take a swim in the icy Atlantic waters. The
vampire signal is coming from a wrecked civilian private jet. There are signs
of an explosion at the nose of the airplane, the wings are missing, and the
tail section has been sheared off but the main fuselage is mostly intact. Paladin
reaches out to Network using the GPS link the air-raft’s NavCom is connected to
have him bring the ‘rescue’ team some blood. Network goes to Post Nuclear and
gets 4 pints from Sam, after convincing him that this isn’t some sick joke and
Lilli is actually alive. After
delivering the blood Network blips back to the base. It is currently roughly 7PM
EST. They
explore the nose for a point to enter. Passing through the cockpit they reach
the mostly intact door to the main cabin.
They pry open the door wwwand find the body of a youngish oriental woman
in a stewardess uniform floating on the eddies. She was killed by the crash,
not by a hungry bloodsucker. Lilli is also floating in the cabin. They grab her
and bring her to the air-raft. As soon as
she is out of the water her eyes spring open. Paladin hands her a blood bag and
she eagerly consumes it. Her first words are “Someone tried to kill me!” Paladin
give her a run down on what has been going on during the last month. He puts
her in communication with Sam so he can bring her up to date on the state of
New York. Only
someone close to her could have known that she has been summoned to Viena to speak
to the Inner Circle. By eavesdropping on her and Sam’s conversation they learn
she was being called to address the Sabbat activities in New York, the fact the
Brooklyn Brigade were still being entrusted with the Jorum of Kinsmenship, and
why Lilli was entrusting the secret of the Masquerade with Super Powered
Humans. The Circle was also concerned about Darius Vonner, Crypt, and Dracula. If the
Inner Circle believes Lilli to be dead the situation could be much worse. If
they thought that Lilli faked her death to avoid appearing before the Inner
Circle then she might be under a Blood Hunt. Sam, who is acting as the Prince
until a new one can be risen, has heard nothing of a Blood Hunt so Lilli is safe
for now. Lilli tells
Sam to let everyone continue to believe she is dead so she can go to Viena and
try to locate the Inner Circle. They are no longer in session and she needs to
find them before the Justicars learn she is still alive. The Heroes
Two offer to help but she says this is something she must do alone. She does
accept their offer to take her to the border of Viena before parting company.
It is roughly two hours to reach Viena and they will fly 4 hours back to New
York. They should be home around midnight. Meanwhile
back In The Big Apple: Some time
that afternoon Suzy Chow, reporter for the Chinatown Express, gets back in touch
with Big Tuna. The Fukien Association (A Chinese Tong) and the Tsukihama-gumi (a
Japanese Yakuza). She is following reports by the people of Chinatown
concerning battles between the Fukien and the Tsukihama. They are fighting for
control of the Asian sector(s) of the city and people are being caught in the crossfire.
Also with their growing number of cyborgs people are being forced to pay every increasing
protection to the groups. What law enforcement is available in the sectors can
not stand up against the power of the Cyber-Ninjas and the Cybermen. Big Tuna
had several questions such as why the people in the Asian quarter want Big Tuna
to take care of the cyber-criminals rather than letting the authorities do it. The
answer for that is cultural; they don’t trust Laowais (white people, non-Chinese,
foreigners, outsiders) and they don’t trust the police. Big Tuna’s questions
about the Tong-Yakuza conflicts yield not useful information. Suzy tells him
that her source for the article(s) is a friend of hers named Tamara Tanner. She
will meet with him and tell him what she can. Big Tuna suggests his sushi
restaurant (I propose Ume Japanese Restaurant, excellent reviews and only a few
blocks from the base. The Base in on 12 th Ave near Kent Ave and Umi
is 237 Kent Avenue just a few blocks away). Plus it is a friendly family-oriented
business not a Nyotaimori style sushi restaurant. 6:00 PM Big Tuna
will meet with Tamara Tanner at Ume. She tells Tuna that her boyfriend is a
member of the Fukien Association and tells her a lot of things she shouldn’t know.
She will tell Tuna what she can but if he thinks she is the source of the information
leak she will be dead. The Fukien Association is ruthless and they take swift
action. Her
boyfriend is the source of a lot of the information that she has but not the
sole source. She overhears members of the clan speaking while she is at work.
She is a dancer at the Golden Lantern, her stage name is ‘Sparkly Bunny’. Rumor has
it what when the Tsukihama-gumi yakuza started using cybernetically enhanced
ninjas the Fukien Association was literally and figuratively being cut to
ribbons. The area where both criminal organizations operate has been disputed
by both for as long as anyone can remember. The clan was doomed and the Tsukihama-gumi
would be unchecked. They would spread into the areas controlled by other Tong
organizations. Something
had to be done. The chairman
contacted their parent organization in China, the Tung Group, for help. They
supposedly arranged for Doctor Wu to provide the Fukien Association the support
they needed. Doctor Wu came to discuss the situation with the chairman Jie Euyieg.
Jie Euyieg was suffering from terminal cancer and wanted to pass a healthy and
powerful Fukien Association to his son. He wanted weapons that would wipe the Tsukihama-gumi
off the face of the earth. Doctor Wu made him a counteroffer.
Wu would give Jie Euyieg immortality
and the power to lead his tong to victory. Jie accepted. Doctor Wu made him the
first full cyborg conversion dubbing him the Cyber Leader. Then Wu began
converting volunteers into full cyborg conversions, an army of Cybermen. Big Tuna was familiar with the legendary
Doctor Wu, a servant of the Dragon Emperor of ancient China. The Dragon Emperor
was the first Emperor of China, circa 221 BC. Doctor Wu, an immortal sorcerer, whose
power made the Dragon Emperor’s rule possible. Doctor Wu was attended by his
four immortal sons who also served as his generals (Copper Spear, Golden Axe,
Silver Hand, and Iron Whirlwind). They were known as The Four Sons of the
Dragon. Wu eventually became emperor himself in 140 BC but his reign ended
about circa BC 97. Legend has it that Doctor Wu, and
his sons, retreated to a paradise in the lost white mountain where he remains
to this day. Tamara has heard the Four Sons of
the Dragon are working with the Cyber Leader at the direction of their father.
As far as she knows Doctor Wu might has returned to China. She says she will
keep an ear open. If she hears anything about Doctor Wu of the Sons of the
Dragon she will tell Big Tuna as soon as she can. She will also try to learn who is creating
the Cyber-Ninjas for the Tsukihama-gumi. With that she leaves. 7:00 PM Impact is contacted by his sister
Beverely. She is in town and needs to speak to him. Beverly is taking him to
dinner at Aces High , one of the most expensive restaurants in New York
if not the planet. Even an appetizer here costs a thousand dollars. Beverly tells him to dress appropriately,
Aces High has dress code. “At long last dad is retiring. He
and mom are going to Florida and leaving the company to me. We are in a
dangerous business and I need you to come back to the company. It might be the
only way I survive, I need you to watch my back.” Frank (Impact) at first declines.
His life is in New York now and he is happy here. The alludes to the fact that
he has already gotten his hands dirty by providing her with three potential
places where Hammerhead is being held in protective custody. She tell him that the
Hammerhead problem is over and she owes it all to him. The Hammerhead’s hit
squad is being assembled and he should be dead by morning. They reminisce for a bit. Frank recalling
that dad told him that his refusal to join the firm meant he was dead to him.
Mom and Beverly still have been holding out hope that the prodigal son would
come back to the fold. This might be Frank’s last change to do that. After she convinces Frank she is
not kidding, nor is she exaggerating, about the danger she is in back home in
Chicago Frank agrees to come back to the firm and watch her back. He tells her
he has no idea how to run even the family’s legitimate operations and will be
pretty much useless to her. With a smile she tells him that she has already initiated
a program just for him. It will provide him the training and the access to be
able to function in the company instead of standing out like a sore thumb. It
is the Executive Management Trainee Program. She order him the veal. While the siblings are talking Hiram
Worchester, the owner of Aces High, comes to the table. He is a large man, 300
pounds plus, but very light on his feet. He and Beverly chat for a bit,
obviously having known each other for a while, before he excuses himself
because he a restaurant to run. Beverly hands Frank a thick envelop.
It contains 20 grand in cash. She tells him to get a better wardrobe, his appearance
is…disappointing. Her flight to Chicago leaves at midnight and she is parked in
the garage served by an exclusive elevator for Aces High. She wishes him well and says that
she will see him Monday at the office, 7AM sharp. Midnight The
Air Raft is home. Beverely leaves for Chicago. Peace and Joy conquer the world. Saturday January 12, 2019 Impact asks the members of the
team if anyone could suggest a tailor. Big Tuna says he knows a guy, all of
Tuna’s suits are custom fitted and hand made. His clothier is Darius Young, an Italian
tailor. Darius is 5 foot 5, slender, white blonde hair, and impeccably dressed.
Darius measures Impact and records the
information in meticulous detail. Frank says the he needs 2 black, 1 white, and
Dark blue suits by Sunday night. Darius chokes, there is no way to fill that order
and do it well. He refuses to do anything less than his best. Darius can cut a suit he has in
back, an ‘off the rack’ if you will, for the Sunday night deadline. The rest of
the suits will be ready in about a week. Darius will provide shoes and a variety
of ties for the suits when they are complete. Frank pays
Darius the entire 20,000 dollars for his new Executive Management Training
wardrobe. Monday January 14, 2019 "Hey long time no hear. This is you in the future. Keep the
Rainbow crystal safe the Thalok Empire will need it to reopen the Stargate.
They won't need the crystal to destroy our star though. Be careful they are
content to nova-bomb Sol."
