Everybody, thanks for the responses. T his game is currently closed . This post is being left up in case I need to recruit again before the campaign starts. It is being considered to start a Monday game if I generate another party of interested folks. Responses to that are welcome. I have considered running Neutral /Evil version of the campaign in the future - Evil saves the world from a worse Evil is always fun. If anyone is interested in belevolent evil, HMU. -S- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I have, for a few months, been running a group through a homebuilt campaign based out of Skelt. The region has been homebrewed up a bit to build on the very thin material about the land between Skelt and the Bloodsworn Vale, but staying well within the existing world. I plan for a bit of a horror element to creep into the game toward the end, but essentially this is a mid-fantasy setting, involving fairly well known creature types, with a "Hero of the Citizenry" vibe. Newer players won't need to learn any odd settings rules, or city-building mini-games etc. I would like to start a second group in the same campaign, starting from the beginning, Running from level 1-15+. My first group will still be running (Sundays, 6pm), but will be an Act +/- ahead. My experiences running that instance of the campaign will help inform, streamline, and improve the campaign that this group will be playing and I look forward to running a more polished version of the adventure. The party will be living and working in the region when they get swept into a larger story. Main settings are Wilderness and Rural Countryside. Leveling up will be done on a storyline basis. Equipment, gold etc., will be acquired through various means, however looting will not typically be the primary one. Exact methods will vary by character. Game will be 18+, however I won't be dwelling on 18+ themes - rather I just don't want to have to watch my language or descriptions. There will be more horror/gore/death than sex by a long shot. That being said, 18+ does not mean open season - There is a very basic level of decorum expected out of myself and the players. This is intended to be a long campaign, I expect around a year to complete. What I am looking for : I am ideally looking for around a 1pm (eastern - 1800 GMT) Sunday start, played weekly. European Players welcomed, Game will be played in English. I want a party size of 5-6, but will play 4 or 7 if the mix is right,. The adventure is open to players of all experience levels, and will (at the start) hew very close to core classes and mechanics. It is important that my experienced players are willing to help newer players learn the game, and have patience as they grow. We keep our game alive by making it fun for new players, and mentoring new folks incubates that love of gaming. Party should be composed of civic minded white-hats or concerned citizens in the LG/NG range. This is designed to be a heroic campaign starting at level 1. Primary Races are Human and Dwarf, as they dominate the cultural landscape of the area. Other core races are acceptable - Gnomes actually have a good presence in Skelt City itself, 1/2 Elves and 1/2 Orcs are rare but not unheard of. For the sake of overall encounter balance from my end, I would like party composition to be classic core (Warrior/Arcane/Divine/Rogue) with additional utility/secondary fighter type(s), I will do my best to have a good mix of combat and RP, and playing in character is strongly encouraged. I feel like a good Role Player can have a blast with a basic Human Sword and Board old school Fighter, and I want that kind of player, not somebody who just wants to build a stat sheet. The characters should be bigger than just the numbers. I want players with a sense of humor who are invested in their characters, yet realize it is just a game. What I am not looking for: I don't want min/max power gamers (optimization, good : game breaking focus, bad), rules lawyers, murder hobos, or other members of the "no fun" patrol. Don't be a dick. If you are anti- anybody, any kind of "phobic" or generally hateful toward others you will not be welcomed in my group. I have rules posted in my existing game that will be duplicated into this one - no real-world politics, religion, etc. . Don't yuck my yum, as the kids say. I am open to all genders / ideologies / practices so long as you are not a dick and don't try to proselytize. I will also not tolerate bullying of others or any kind of out-of-game bad behaviors. Don't be a dick. I don't want gate-keepers or folks who look down on people with less esoteric knowledge. I am welcoming to new players, and expect my players to create a fun learning environment for those who want to have fun and learn. PF1E is a beautiful, rich environment, but it is a lot of information, and can overwhelm at first (and second, and third lol). It is better to gently correct or direct someone to the information they need than to bully or belittle them. Gaming should be a welcoming community. Don't be a dick. Warnings will exist, unless you are a dick. Don't. Be. A . Dick . About Me: I am 52 years old. I reside in North Florida (Tallahassee - GO NOLES!!! 2025 NCAA Women's Soccer National Champions!!!). I have been gaming since the Red Box and have played a number of systems and games, both TTRPG and board games (big time into Avalon Hill back in high school). I am a firm believer in Rule 0 and, whereas I like to stick to the rules so there's a standard "physics" to things, I am willing to, when it fits, do arbitrary things in the name of the Storyline. I love a spectacular attempt that results in either heroic movie-like feats or humiliating failure, I love a creative use of a skill, or a workaround. If a player can rationalize a thing to me, I am willing to listen, especially if it seems fun or funny. As a DM I do try to keep things in their natural habitats, acting like they do. Goblins flee when you kill a few of them. Alligators rarely fight to the death. Gold is heavy. In Summary : I want to start this in January with session 0 by midmonth. Part of the schedule does revolve around the end of a 5e campaign I am currently playing in (Barbarian : Path of the Giant is a trip and the DM "RedWall" is solid) at that time slot , which should be wrapping up right around then .I f it runs longer, I wil have to push by a week or so, but I expect we wil wrap up with a few weeks to spare . That campaign has ended, and I expect a January set-up time, with session 0 in mid-January, Play in ernest should begin at the end of the month. I want to get through the holidays before expecting time commitments out of folks. I will, between now and then, be taking names and building a roster. I will also be willing to help get new players up to speed on the basics of the UI, for those not as familiar with Roll20, so as to be game-ready by Session 0. I will be fielding interest for the next few weeks, and I generally respond pretty quickly. For more information concerning the setting, plot, style, character building options (15 point buy, BTW) et c. drop a message. To Show interest : There is a Discord server that ia the home for the game. I will send invites, on request, to join the server. The meet-and-greet channel is the place for introductions and public queries about general information. I will also respond to DMs etc. Thank you for your time. -Scott-
