Map Flattening

Large maps and/or maps with a lot of images dropped on it can cause loading delays and lags.  The developers have optimized Roll20 a bit, but this still exists.  I think there is a simple solution for this that could make loading very large or image-laden maps easy.   Solution/Suggestion:  Create an option and server-side script that allows GMs to "publish" a map.  All this would do is effectively allow the server to turn the map layer on a specific map off of "edit mode" and flatten all images on the map into a single map image.  This could lighten future loads on the servers and networks (after initial processing) and improve customer experience.  It should be designed where the map can be put back into "edit mode" so the GM can add/remove map images like normal, and it should not be required for all maps since many GMs would want to retain the ability to alter the map layer on the fly while playing.  But I think this would be a good option for a lot of GMs with large persistent maps that don't need mid-play editing of the map.  It would improve both efficiency and gameplay effectiveness in those cases.   Thanks.
